"We were in the back part of Jerzee's," said Will Ruholt, a friend of Barker's from Conner High School. "A couple people started talking (abusively) and things started to get a little heated. Colton Scurry is the one who started the entire fight. He pushed me. Multiple people can verify that."

Zach Littleton, an EKU sophomore who said he accompanied the UK players, also described Scurry as the instigator.

"I was actually pretty sober and I was watching everything that was going down," Littleton said. "Basically what happened was a bunch of UK football players come in and all you hear is, 'This is my neighborhood. What are you doing here?'

"I know if there's any video, you'll see I'm trying to defuse the situation. I was getting between them and saying, 'Calm down. Calm down.' (But) As soon as (Scurry) pushed Will, it was just a big mess. From what I saw, it wasn't just Colton. I saw a bunch of people swinging for no reason."

Littleton says he helped Colton to his feet at one point and found blood on his hand. Scurry's father declined to offer an account of the event.

"We'll let the criminal side take its course and do its investigation," Jeff Scurry said. "There's a lot of good evidence and eyewitnesses that saw exactly what happened. (Colton's) healing, but we're trying to let the (legal) process take place. We're just trying to get him well.

"It's been a long couple of days. . .We're up here just for comfort and support. We've met with the staff and the school and everybody is praying for a speedy recovery

Well, one would have to believe the ABC and Richmond PD will have questions for the bar's owner.

I am not drawing any conclusions about this incident but the common thread that I see between this incident and the pellet gun incident was that Drew Barker was involved in both. Bad example being set by someone who wants to be a "leader" on the FB team..

I'm just gonna let it play out. Sounds like the EKU player is a real piece of work, though. From this, to what he did to Nerlens Noel.

already posting pictures on internet, and his mouth started it, we all have known a guy like this.

Our guys should still be more level-headed. Even if the dude started it, what hell are they doing at a Bar when they're underage? Why not walk away? Bone heads...

Perhaps Barker should be impose solitary confinement on himself for the next 3-4 years and only see the light of day for class, practice and games. Starting to sound like barker and crew were minding their own business and out enjoying themselves like any other college student. I am not sure what happened with the bottle incident and will wait to see about that but not about to say this looks bad for barker being involved. Can hardly blame him for standing up for himself and not taking any crap from the EKU player that appears may have started this whole thing afterall.

***** LANGUAGE WARNING ****

Please guys, it's not hard to come up with words that are allowed. It took me all of a fraction of a second to think of another one and I corrected it.

The bars shouldn't be letting anyone under 21 in regardless. If they want to have a college night with no alcohol served then so be it, but having underage people around alcohol is just asking for trouble.

They should be put in the Military at 18 given a rifle and sent to far off lands... till they're 21. Never did make sense to me... Just don't think there's any magic in being 21... They were in the wrong spot at the wrong time... People die when that happens...More-so now than back in the day... Haven't we all (?) been in those spots?

Sorry but have to agree with MychalG. You don't hear of any other UK quarterback getting in these situations. Whether he wants to accept it or not, being the quarterback on any team does make you a leader. I was willing to give him a pass for the pellet gun crap but part of being a leader is learning how to say NO to "a little fun" that could possibly put you in a compromising situation.

I am sorry but fighting with his team will not hurt his leadership ability, actually it will the do the opposite

Unles it on the security camera it's he said she said in a bar fight lol like to see that stick if you got a good lawyer. Plus let's say bar owner shows the tape and they identify all the people in it that should be fun we will get to count exactly all the underage drinkers he served . Wait see I bet this goes away.

This is just disappointing all around. This is the second time hearing Dorian Baker and Drew Barker's name in the paper for all the wrong reasons.

They have no business being at a bar underage. I don't care what other college students do, you are here on scholarship and can easily lose that. I don't like the precedent being set by these young men, especially Barker.

90% of the UK players that did represent the university well also did drink alcohol under the age of 21 and did it at Bars, parties, etc... It's a bar fight for pete sake and a guy took the worse of it and we want some of our guys dismissed from the team?

AGREED!!! I have been going to Richmond bars and bars in general since I was 16 (now 47) . While I have squared off a few times not ONCE not ONCE have I ever gotten into a bar fight. I am 6' 3" and 235 lbs, my friends that I got o bars with are 6' 6" 350 lbs, and 6' 4" 310 lbs, we have been sought out to F**K with before because of our size......It is not hard to stay out of bar fights, or fights in general..... WALK AWAY! Someone called you a name......WALK AWAY! Someone spills a drink ......WALK AWAY! Someone pushes you...... WALK THE HELL AWAY! No one wins a bar fight, and now days you may not even live to fight again.

Walking away doesn't mean you less of a man, walking away means you are a man.....

These guys shouldn't want the name in the paper during the off season. Barker doesn't need this off season distraction if he is going to make a push at the starting job in the fall.

Anybody else see this? Article says there may have been another related incident at a dorm later that night-morning?
Allegedly after the bar incident the UK players drove to the EKU dorm which houses most of their football team. And there Drew Barker was knocked TFO.

hey, they may be only 1-AA, but that is still 60+ scholarship football players. pretty stupid for 3 UK skill players to roll up on that, after already being in a confrontation in a bar.

Good Lord! JHB, thanks had no idea. Not being smartass just genuinely interested, is that info somewhere accessible for the public?

IF TRUE: This just has 10 different layers of stupid written all over it. That's why I have doubts. SURELY our players aren't that dumb.

No doubt there will be cell phone video of the whole thing, if it really happened. No way something like that went down without someone pulling out a cellphone and recording.

No but he needs to be mature enough to walk away. I went to EKU and there are plenty of people up there who have a large chip on their shoulder when it comes to UK and most of them play football for Eastern. If you're going to go out, and esp Richmond, you always have to expect someone is going to pick a fight with you esp when it comes to being a football player. Like I said in another thread, things like this will happen n the football field. Guys are going to shove you after the whistle, and you have to keep your cool.

From the thing with Nerlens and now this, this EKU kid does seem like an enormous douche.

It's interesting that we still haven't heard a word about a UK player doing something. I actually take that as a bad sign. It's gonna come all at once.

I own a home in Louisville, the Highlands off Bardstown Rd. This area is well known for bars and night life. Speaking from experience I would not be surprised if 50% of the patrons were under 21.

Not good and definitely not smart. Seems Barker has some character problems along with Baker and Dubose. Stoops better step up on this one.

I'm sure Stoops is excited today that 3 of his players almost beat a kid to death and then went to a dorm to fight some more.

.

I hope that's not true. Troubling.

It sure sounds like these young men may have some issues that need attention immediately. They may be facing serious legal problems,
