Tim Sullivan's Story on Barfight

The statements about the fight came from kids that were friends of Barker, that go to EKU. It's very possible they live in that dorm, and they were going there to spend the night to avoid getting a DUI. There are a lot more kids in that dorm than just the football players. I'm pretty sure it's a co-ed dorm as well. So let's not assume they went to the dorm just to cause trouble. Not getting behind the wheel after drinking might have been the best decision they made all night.

How old do you have to be to get into Jerzee's? Some bars are exclusively 21 and up, but a lot of clubs are 18+. I only ask because it could be a situation where these players were illegally in a bar, or it could be a situation where they were allowed to be there. Just because they were there does not mean they consumed alcohol in the bar, or from the bar. Many 18-20 year olds go to clubs and "pre-game" somewhere else. I guess it doesn't really play a huge factor into it, but I really don't like it when bars allow football players in regardless of their age.

Anybody else see this? Article says there may have been another related incident at a dorm later that night-morning?
Allegedly after the bar incident the UK players drove to the EKU dorm which houses most of their football team. And there Drew Barker was knocked TFO.

hey, they may be only 1-AA, but that is still 60+ scholarship football players. pretty stupid for 3 UK skill players to roll up on that, after already being in a confrontation in a bar.
Gotta appreciate the moxie...
LOL!

Exactly what I was thinking. Those boys have some balls.

Serious reply - No I joined the military at 17. I never went into bars underage or got into fights. I decided to be more mature for my age. I guess I expect more out of people based on my own experiences.

I'm only speculating of course, but if that is true then sounds like they may have been really drunk. Really, really drunk. If you don't have enough sober sense after being involved in the bar deal to get your @ss home and hope nothing comes up of it/Stoops doesn't find out, then I don't know what to say.

So they jumped the guy at the bar for no reason, then decided he needed more?
Yea, the police report doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I've been around quite a few idiots in my lifetime and I've yet to see any of them jump a guy for no reason whatsoever. I'm certainly not sticking up for the three guys from UK, but I do find the police report from the injured EKU player to be a bit hard to believe. There seems to be a few things that were left out/altered.

The police report is likely just the one side of the story. They probably did not include any interviews with the accused. So, it basically just tells the "victim's" story.

It sure sounds like these young men may have some issues that need attention immediately. They may be facing serious legal problems,
I believe you have well demonstrated who has the issues. Did you lose your gf to a football player or did one beat you up at some point?

The bars shouldn't be letting anyone under 21 in regardless. If they want to have a college night with no alcohol served then so be it, but having underage people around alcohol is just asking for trouble.

They should be put in the Military at 18 given a rifle and sent to far off lands... till they're 21. Never did make sense to me... Just don't think there's any magic in being 21... They were in the wrong spot at the wrong time... People die when that happens...More-so now than back in the day... Haven't we all (?) been in those spots?
^^what he said^^

Are you my stalker?

"We were in the back part of Jerzee's," said Will Ruholt, a friend of Barker's from Conner High School. "A couple people started talking (abusively) and things started to get a little heated. Colton Scurry is the one who started the entire fight. He pushed me. Multiple people can verify that."

Zach Littleton, an EKU sophomore who said he accompanied the UK players, also described Scurry as the instigator.

"I was actually pretty sober and I was watching everything that was going down," Littleton said. "Basically what happened was a bunch of UK football players come in and all you hear is, 'This is my neighborhood. What are you doing here?'
So far the only quotes from Ruholt and Littleton, both who are friends of the UK players.
Rather see some eyewitness reports from someone that's a neutral party to the incident.

Maybe we should look at this the way some on here feel about the Police and breaking the law.

If you break the law, it's only your fault you got shot and killed.
Don't break the law.

If you run your mouth, it's only your fault you got your ass kicked.
Don't run your mouth.

It's that simple, right? Probably a bad analogy but whatever.

For those of us who are still alive and never had our asses kicked, rules to live by. Pretty simple.

When I first went to EKU, most of the bars were 18 and you received a wristband if you were 21 or over. My junior year Richmond passed an ordinance forcing all the bars to be 21 or over to enter. Needless to say that broke most the bars in Richmond, so I don't know if they changed it or not.
