Front page article talks about three point shots and free throws.
In that we have to stop these with the opponent. they were factors in UMs strong effort against us.
Ole Myth played out of their minds and their energy and effort was almost the difference, even though Cal warned the 'Cats the team with the most effort and energy would win.

Take nothing away from the Rebs, but If I am an Ole Miss fan or HC, I am not happy that the team can play with super effort only against UK and nobody else. But don't count on it. the opponent fans really only care about one game.. us. is it fair? no.
Is it reality. yep.

Its said that every team gets up for us like no other; and it is true.
Maybe teams naturally play to the level of competition more times than not. We certainly do that at times.
But the down side of that means that we or they are not giving enough effort in the other games and they need to be held account.
So, what kind of effort are we going to have today? Will we foul the three point shooters? This will get us beat.

Will we match or exceed the energy and effort of the competition who will always come out with fire in their eyes?
Or will we slack off in the first half if we jump up to a 12 pt lead before TA&M Scores?
Or will we keep up the adrenaline for 40 minutes?

Listening to pregame today (T A&M) they talked a lot about Cal stressing having your hands up on defense to make it harder on shooters. That being true and I agree with that thinking. It seemed to me the Ole Miss shooters were already making an adjustment to their shot simply due to the size of our defense. There appeared to me to be a lot of high arching shots taken by the UM players. Also many shots were also taken not squared to the basket simply because they could get the shot off at that time.
