It's really not that hard to figure out. I hate to say this about any kid, but the reality is he flat out quit. He had never been coached hard in his life, and when it happened, he went into a shell and packed it in. His goal became just get through the season uninjured and head to the league. Now he's playing for money, so it's different.
But let's be honest; he's in the perfect situation as well. There's no pressure there; no expectation to win. You can stuff the stat sheet without really doing anything special. He'll be a guy that puts up good numbers on a bad team. It will be interesting to see how he reacts if he ever gets on a good team and there are actual expectations.
Probably some truth at least. At UK he was expected to perform and WIN. Big difference in using your game to win and using it to put some numbers up as a 7 foot finesse big.
