DJ would of been all SEC on this team. I think he would of been able to give us that low post presence we need. plus he would of gotten those min to blossom he hadn't gotten before. really think he could of been the key for this team had he stayed.

Tres Lyles is the kid I was hoping stay He would have been a super soph this year, possibly an AP A-A, and would have taken a lot of pressure off our young players to carry the offensive load.

I really believe this could of been his blow out year. and Lyles was another good one. Lyles would of been a double double machine on this team.

Agreed totally...we need Dakari in a season like this...and he's not doing anything but earning 30k in D-League.

Once murray gets going we will be fine....dude can carry this team once he gets hitting on all cylinders....he needs about 10 more shots per game

I want to see Murray shoot more 3's...he can hit high 40's....Right now cal yells drive every time he touches the ball...Briscoe and Ulis needs to do the driving and kick back to Murray and Willis for 3..Duke does the drive and kick a lot...

They better figure it out and get tougher, maybe this loss will sting soooo much they will play out of their minds the rest of the year

Well if we are dreaming, I'll take KAT and Devin Booker.
I don't think suggesting Dakari returning is dreaming. It would have been wise and a better decision probably...for both parties.

I get the point though.

The question on Murray for me is, Can he adjust to not being the main and mostly only man and still be as productive as expected?. Cal is not likely to give him 10 more shots per game .. at least based on previous years

Doubt he would've been all-SEC. He did virtually nothing well. I guess he was a competent rebounder for his size. But that's about it.

Lyles and DJ could have benefited from staying another year

Benefited as basketball players. But not benefited in terms of business sense. They each got drafted as high as they would have this year, without the risk of injury and with an extra years pay.

Right now cal yells drive every time he touches the ball.

Which is the right thing to do imo. Right now, Murray is afraid of contact. He has several drives against UCLA where he made it all the way to the basket but dribbled it back out rather than go up strong.

Dakari couldn't have improved his draft position?

Bullshit.

He has no contract and is making 30 freaking grand.

hell yea DJ could of improved his situation today had he came back. DJ was talented and did a lot of things well, unlike the poster that said he did nothing well. DJ was really coming in his own his soph year. he developed a 15 foot jumper he rarely got to use got in great shape. DJ was just rushed last year. because of limited play we just did not get a chance to see these guys blossom like DJ. this year in the SEC he would of been the best Big or 2nd or 3 rd best behind the guy at Vandy. Simmons I see more as a point forward.

Not sure I agree. To be honest, I never saw much in the way of talent in DJ (at least not to explain how he got that No. 1 center HS ranking). Dude had ZERO explosiveness in his legs, was slow as molasses, couldn't defend more than a few feet from the bucket, and quite limited skills. He mostly just served as a slow 7 foot ox to clog the lane and board, and we've already got (a feistier) one of those in Isaac Humphries.

The guy who I think really would've exploded if he'd come back is Trey Lyles. Lyles had crazy skills that we never really got to see fully unleashed because he spent last season deferring, forced to play out of position, and dealing with injuries. I think Lyles could've blossomed into a genuine dominant college superstar with a healthy full year getting to play his natural PF position.

But, hey, can't blame him for leaving.
