This Team Is About To Be Eaten Alive On The ROAD In The SEC

UK fans are the best, but there's a segment that is mind boggling..
I don't see how its mind boggling to say we struggle with physical teams. This is a finnesse team. WKU, Clemson, and now Ohio state have given us isuses. Some of our guys are just soft. Still, I'm not mad at all. 10-2 with a team of so-so talent. With wins over Duke and Gonzaga.

Did you expect 10-2 at this point before the season started?

A whole brand new roster. A whole brand new coach and staff. Come on.

The expectations got sky rocketed with some great wins. Those wins are still impressive. Some nights it goes bad. Tonight was one of those.

To expect more at this point is not logical. These guys never played together....ever.

Relax a little.

Our front court will be dominated in SEC games if we don’t improve our defense. Now I’m beginning to worry about our back court, we shouldn’t lose to any team on a neutral floor by as much as we did tonight.
I especially don't like that this happened in Madison Square Gardens.

Whats sad is how many suddenly get juiced up to post a lot only when we lose….. so 💩

I'm literally just saying we struggle with physical play. It's a fact. Hopefully Pope can fix it. But the season so far is gravy. Who expected to beat Gonzaga and Duke? I know I didn't. I expected 22 wins. And I still do.

No UK fan should ever be okay with a 20 point beat down no matter the circumstances. This UK team has beaten much better teams. There was just no excuse to get beat by Ohio St..especially by 20 points. I know the OP ain't okay with it. This is more so a reply to a few posts I've read in this thread.

The OP isn't talking about tonight's game, which would be fine. It happened.

The op is wetting his pants about future games and started a thread about us falling in the sec. That's not ok. Kentucky fans aren't babies who give up on the season.

I don't see anyone giving up on the season but I can see why the OP has concerns. This Ohio St. team was beaten by 40 by Auburn and by 30 by Maryland. It's concerning. UK has struggled against physical teams so far and the SEC is full of physical teams. I think that's why the OP has the opinion he has.

This embarrassment had nothing to do with the fans. This team was exposed in a very raw and ugly way. This team has lost its fight and any desire to play as a team. Our bigs play like they are closer to 6'6" than nearly 7 foot like they are. We couldn't score on basic drives to the basket against a team without any real low-post presence. Either the team has stopped running the offense or the offense flat-out stinks. This team is a collection of leftover parts that don't currently work well enough together to avoid getting eaten alive in conference play.

The typical "easier" road games.

Georgia
Mississippi State
Vanderbilt
Mississippi
Missouri

All of these teams are much better this year. All will be expecting to win at home.
You same guys were predicting 5-5 start to the season Here we are 10-2. and undefeated in Rupp. We don’t need Chicken Little fans who always bring nothing to the conversation but The Sky is Falling

What did you see from last night that makes you think there is an easy fix. The word on the street is that this team is soft and if you knock them around early, they will curl into a fetal position and give up. These players are missing what Pope can't give them, HEART.

You are correct, and all these away games are the dates circled and highlighted by these opponents for when Kentucky comes to town.

The most important thing this UK roster has is experience. This roster can play on the road and and can handle travel and hostile environments.

I fully expect to win 4/5 of these games but your right it will be tough games for sure.

On the road? The U.K. squad that played OSU last night is lucky to win 5 home games! Forget on the road!

Now I don’t think for a second that’s going to happen, but if they just decide to mail it in and count their NIL, UK will go from being the talk of CBB, to being the talk of CBB, but at the other end of the spectrum.

Save this thread for bump material we need to keep these clowns exposed

Even the homerest of homers (man in the minor) saw some major flaws last night, that is on tape, and will be viewed by opposing SEC coaches moving forward!

A loss is a loss is a loss, but, Top 5 teams don’t get blown out at a venue and stage that is MSG, to a undermanned team that they are favored over by 8 points generously!

Until further notice, I’m reeling in my expectations for what this team can accomplish, and Pope will have a great opportunity to prove just what kind of basketball genius he truly is.

Go Cats💯

No one other than you have stated that Pope is a genius. To criticize Pope at this point is to suggest that there is someone else who could do a better job with this collection of players. If you believe there is someone else, I will hangup and listen. Otherwise, Pope has done a heck of a job in bringing in a bunch of spare parts at the last minute and getting them to play as well as they have. I don't believe any other coach could have done it. If it doesn't last, he has still achieved things that our previous coach wasn't able to do.

Every SEC team is going to have a hard time on the road. It's going to be a friggin' bloodbath.

I'm not too concerned because I thought 23 wins overall and 11 in the SEC was the peak for this team before the season began.

I still do.

10-8 in the SEC seems realistic. 11-7 seems like our ceiling. 9-9 seems like the floor.

Embrace it. This is year #1 of Pope's rebuild. I won't judge him by a real standard until year 3.

What’s sad is how a fanbase judges the hell outta each other lol.. It’s like a clan of nerds/ virgin get on here to protect their program ( that 90% never attended ) also to which probably never played the sport. It’s a forum lmao, OPINIONS are like assholes , everybody’s got one 👍 Yep, we lost and played like shit ( that’s fact ) no sugar coating and no sunshine pumping douche bag can change it.

So you go on a rant about judging opinions while judging an opinion an opinion board. Hypocrisy at its finest hour. 😂

Exhibit A of what I was talking about. My goodness.

I can't speak for others, but I post the good, bad, and ugly. I have done this since I have been on this board. When my posts align with certain posters, my posts receive kudos and when not, I am criticized. Doesn't much matter to me which I receive because I will continue to post as I see it.

Says the guy that joined right after Cal quit and clearly got agitated reading a post about only posting when things are bad. Enjoy the rest of your life since I wont see any
Yeh.. actually , got banned BECAUSE of Cal lol.. On here for a minute bro.. You on the other hand, just recently 🤔 Honestly though, I could care less how long you’ve been on here lol.

I have been banned numerous times because of my Cal posts. The funny thing is that I am still here and he is gone. Lol

With all the maturity I didn't expect toughness to be an issue. I was wrong. Oweh and butler are the only two that handle it. Everyone else shrinks. Garrison and alminor aee the only other players who do ok.

Sec road games wont be giving us any whistles so they'll have to find some toughness or some games will get ugly.

I’ve been saying the same thing. It takes no talent to be tough and physical. It’s a mentality. It’s a personality trait to want to play this way. It does concern me that our kids aren’t wired to be physical. Our coach may not be wired to get it out of them. I’m not sure how to scheme around a lack of physicality. But that’s why pope gets paid the big bucks

I mean.. am I wrong for calling somebody out that’s always throwing shade? I’ve thrown shade at HH for sh*tting rainbows literally all the time lol. Never constantly at every post that doesn’t agree with his. He’s probably the same guy on Cals sack before he bailed ..

It isn't just about the loss tonight. It is about how we have looked and how we have played. There have been very few crisp games. I think we would be alright if we was playing a physical brand of basketball and looking for the 3 ball but we aren't. We are recklessly driving to the hoop and throwing up bs garbage just like we did the last few years under Cal.

Every team in the country, including the eventual national champion will take a loss like Kentucky took yesterday.
All the reactionary posts don’t change the fact that UK is 10-2 and ranked in the top 10.
Kentucky will finish in the top 4 of the SEC when the regular season ends.
