Aaron Bradshaw

If he ever figures it out between the ears he could be an impactful college player. He's definitely got some raw ability. Will he ever reach that untapped potential is a big question mark, but at 21 he's still got some time. Cal did a shit job in helping him develop(not that Bradshaw didn't play a part).

With that matador defense we played tonight, Cotton Nash could have hung 50 on us. Next 5 games he won’t score 11 total points. This game is simple. You don’t play defense, you suck.

...doesnt matter...we made him look like an AA tonight...

I would take Bradshaw over Kentucky's 3 big men because he at least plays with intensity and above the rim.

Why the need to jump ugly on Nash? 😜

From what I witnessed on my TV, no one wearing a UK jersey Saturday afternoon (including Williams) wanted anything to do with Ohio State’s physicality. The failures can be traced from there in the film study, but to me it all began with UK’s lack of toughness and refusal to fight back in the face of physical play. No Grit.

Oh please overact much?

Bradshaw had one nice game…he hit a few threes, nice step back jumper…but he made no strong post moves, 2 rebounds, zero blocks , etc

He still looks like a tall kid, lacks elite athletic ability, and body isn’t physical strength, etc. if Amari/Garrison had any offensive skills…they’d put Bradshaw under the rim and expose him like what happened eons of times last season

I am not talking about his shooting; I am talking about his fight compared to the lack of from our bigs. I am not suggesting that Bradshaw is a great player; however, I am suggesting that he has more of what this team needs than what we currently have. We have bigs who play mostly below the rim. Opposing teams know that our bigs will attempt to back their defender down but they are so slow that they are vulnerable to the backside steal. Our bigs will pound the air out of the ball trying to get low and if they are successful, they seldom elevate high enough to get off a successful shot.

I agree Garrison and Amari have weaknesses…and I’m at a loss for why Amari isn’t a better rim protector

But you stating Bradshaw would play above the rim vs our current bigs is not reality…Bradshaw does not play above the rims at all. He simply took advantage of the floor being spaced as their guards dominated our guard…and he made some open shots…nothing to do with playing above the rim

We can agree to disagree because to suggest that Bradshaw doesn't play above the rim is simply not reality. Also, Bradshaw's teammates are talking about the energy and passion that he brings to the game. When was that said about Williams, Garrison, or Carr? The only Kentucky player who brings that is Kriisa and he is injured.

It’s simple sports psychology, he already had it in his psyche’ that he was going to find a way to show up! He won’t have another performance like that the rest of the season!

And it wasn’t a world beater performance by any stretch.

So 2 boards and zero blocks is playing above the rim?

He hasn't played in weeks and still looked better than anyone of our 3 bigs. You are focusing on the number of blocks while I am focusing on the number of missed layups. Those missed layups were caused because we were trying to avoid getting blocked. Basically, altering someone's shot is just as effective as a blocked shot.

I’d have to re watch..but I don’t remember Bradshaw altering shots in paint…he had one good steal of lob to Amari…I don’t remember a single shot altered

I agree our bigs are flawed…but Bradshaw is towards the bottom of list of bigs that would be a solution

Only Ivisic is who I’d consider a serious upgrade

If the shots weren't altered, please offer up a reason for why so many layups were missed. We missed more layups last night than the combined misses of all previous games. It might be a slight exaggeration but not by much.

Amari is a problem but we've seen Carr and Garrison bring it before. I'm going to chalk this game up as a one off. An anomaly. Sometimes bad games just happen.

Yes, I have seen Carr and Garrison perform much better than they did last night, but while doing that, they didn't appear to be full of energy and passion. Kriisa is this team's energy and passion. You either have it or you don't, and he does and the others don't. This doesn't make them bad players; it simply makes the team lacking it when Kriisa isn't able to play.

Yeah, Kriisa brings the energy for sure. Would've loved to have seen him in there last night when Butler went to the bench with foul trouble.

Yeah but if you have watched other games this year and last he didn’t have it. So is the paradox that he only plays well against us?

Be nice to get Kriisa back, of course, but I do not think he could come close to staying in front of Thornton or Mobley, even if totally healthy. No way …
