This is actually the best year for us in recruiting...

I hate it when people try to do this. This year is B.S. no matter how you look at it. Unless we get Murray.

This post is an example of why many use spoiled brats to describe some of our fans.

How many teams would die to have our roster? Have Skal? Have #3 recruiting class?

I hope you choke on all the crow you'll be swallowing next season.

Great post W....you get it, unfortunately not everyone understands. Let's talk in a year - no bridge jumping until then.

This is a top 10 team. I know many see anything but #1 as a letdown but reality is what it is...can't be preseason #1 every damn year.

Not a single complainer can meet the expectations they hold Cal and UK to...in any aspect of their lives.

any year we get the top rated center.also seen by some as best overall by some pundits.
Skal...

and .the consensus #1 point guard.
i'll like chances of cats.

with lee and poy for experience who is that much better on paper.

with no platoon players will develop better as well with the chemistry that brings as well.

this years class overall not just inre to uks recruits seems weaker as a for cbb in general than last year

Don't you think other teams can point to WCS, Poythress, Harrison twins, Lee and Johnson and say that Cal cant get kids to the NBA as well? If you argue this point then others will argue the players I just mentioned as well.

WCS came in as a 4 star project big man. He's about to be a lottery pick, so I have no idea why he's on your list. Dakari Johnson will be a late first rounder, and he was never going to be a lottery pick. You could argue that with the way he played this year, he wouldn't have even had a chance to go to the draft this year at another program. The proof is in the pudding. If you want to take a few players and argue against what Cal has done here in 6 years, go for it.

From 1999 until 2010 we had zero Final Fours.

From 2010 until 2015 we have had four Final Fours with one resulting in a title.

I'll take the Cal years over the Tubby and BCG years any day.

Even the legendary Pitino failed to put together that kind of run.

Only the 48-51 run from Rupp would top what Cal has done as the coach here.

Enjoy this and remember things are pretty good right now. They haven't always been this good.

There are some things that are almost as important to continuing what Cal is trying to do here as winning championships - and one of those things is proving that raw but talented multi year players like Marcus Lee are going to get their shot and not be recruited over.

If missing on Diallo means Lee plays 25-30 mpg next year and in the process becomes a first or second round draft pick, then I'm content with missing on Diallo.

If missing on Brown means Charles Matthews being given an opportunity to shine and be in the discussion as a future draft pick, and Willis given enough PT to grow as player and become a major contributor, I'm okay with missing on Brown.

I think a winning formula is 2-3 stars and 3-5 role players/future stars. At some point, you've got to honor and invest in the guys that are wearing the blue & white now, and I think that will happen next year.

This thread has become embarrassing.

You guys might not believe this...

Kids that don't choose UK are not necessarily scared of competition or afraid of being exposed.

Kids do develop and get drafted at other schools.

Other schools do have more returning talent and experience than UK. Go on potential all you want. HS McDonalds means nothing by your Junior year.

- Lee and Poythress have plenty to prove.
- Ulis played well as the backup point guard
- Hawkins and Willis are not in the conversation while comparing returning starters from other teams.

- UNC lost one rotation guy
- UVA lost 2 rotation guys
- Maryland lost Dez
- Kansas lost one rotation guy (Alexander was already gone)
- Iowa State has a ton coming back.

Our recruiting class is very good compared to everyone else, with us being in the top 3. Only a teenager can call this year BS until the season has played out.

We are what we are, time to accept and stop crying about it.

Time to stop the gloom and doom if we get no one else.

It is also time that UK fans stop thinking everyone else sucks and that only our guys returning got a year older and a year better.

It would be great to have discussions regarding our team; whether it be discussing our weaknesses or our strengths, as well as our opponents, without the over-the-top posters who can only whine and cry, as well as those that think we are God's gift to humanity. It is like watching the far left and far right in politics.

We will be fine. We have a chance to beat everyone on our schedule, we could also get beat by every top 30 team out there. Intellectual basketball discussion would be nice. Try to envision us having these conversations in person, maybe you won't be so over the top...?
