The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

It confuses me sometimes how some think just because we don't like Zelensky we are Russian supporters. It is totally moronic to say, but they can (free speech and all) which is the norm for them. If you don't agree with their opinion, you are a comrade in this instance. Some of you are not living in reality however as the onus of this conflict should be completely on the shoulders of Putin and Zelensky. Our involvement (monetarily) would also have been more accepted if there had not been so much corruption from the previous admin and Zelensky. Plus, the majority of the outside involvement should be with Europe which is what Trump is trying to make happen if a peace deal can't be reached.

Also, we have a war weary army/public still as we are not far removed from the Iraqi/Afghanistan wars. Many see this as possibly involvement in another war we should not engage in. Not to mention the burden to the taxpayer which is a big concern as it should be.

It’s easy for Americans to play politics with Ukraine. “I am with Ukraine.” I know a handful of Americans who can say that and mean it, because they are on the ground in the war for Ukraine (or in Ukrainian or Polish hospitals). But, for most Americans and their bumper sticker virtue signaling slogans, this is a BS comment. Mainly because, as most sane people have known for the last 3 years, the odds of Ukraine winning this war by simply attaining munitions and aid from other countries is very very very low. We have seen the future and Ukraine loses without this becoming a war that includes the deaths of soldiers from more countries. All of the allusions to Chamberlain on this thread are predictions of a WW 3. Only with the deaths of soldiers not from Ukraine and Russia can Ukraine win this war.
It's pathetic. The same people who run around with their virtue towers blasting out how they support Ukraine at all costs are the same people who will be marching with peace signs and shouting anti war slogan when American kids start coming home in body bags. They are also the same people who could pour their collective understanding of military strategy into a thimble.

Of course, the smartest military strategy is not to fight unless you have to, and then to only fight where you can win.

Notice that neither of these principles ever appear in posts from the war cheerleaders.

We've already covered this, he didn't go into finland because all of his soldiers were already in Ukraine. And yet another reason the "he'll take over all of Europe, is a fantasy.

Also have you guys ever glanced at a map. If the rest of nato wanted to come into Russia would they want to travel in a straight line if you started from Britain or would they want to needlessly travel up around and down through finland?

If you're driving from lex to Cincinnati. Do you drive straight up on 75 or do you drive on 64 to louisville then over to 71.

So which country you think has more value?
I love Geography/Cartography!

1) US sent Bessent weeks ago to Kyiv get a deal signed. Z said no, I’ll sign in Munich. 2) US sends JD and Rubio to Munich. Z stalls and says I’ll sign in Washington. 3) Z shows up at the WH, feels emboldened and chaos ensues. If nothing else, this makes the grounds for an audit of all the aid sent to Ukraine a very likely outcome

There are 3 other small NATO countries that border Russia and did so before Putin attacked Ukraine. The NATO excuse is bs.

A truly awful take is telling someone they can only support a country involved in a war if they go fight too.
It’s an absolutely spot on take. There is no right to force us to support a foreign war that you support. The president sets the policy, the people voted for one that does not want this war to go on forever, and ultimately all that leaves is for you to go fight it yourself. Probably unpleasant, but also true. That’s usually the problem with the truth in most matters.

Well it’s been a full day. Enough time since this morning for all you slava ukrainis to lay out your explanation of how Ukraine can win this war if we keep giving them unlimited cash.

I’m here for it. Tell us.

Watching commentator say how it was a mistake for Zelensky to do this in English.

When he said "we're going alone" he was talking about soldiers not trying to be unthankful for aid.

Regardless, should always do it with interpreters as it gives each party time to pause
He shouldn't have tried to restart negotiations after they left the negotiating room to take some questions and sign the agreement.

From a 2018 report on Russian meddling

Despite Russia’s history of interference, however, it is apparent that in 2014, Russia launched a distinct and multifaceted campaign to undermine and influence the American democratic process. The goals of this campaign are clear:

  • To sow political and social discord in the United States;
  • To undermine and challenge the American and Western democratic system as a model to emulate for transitioning democracies; and
  • To foster ties and support among powerful voices within the party that Russian hawks have traditionally dominated, with the aim to soften that party’s stance.
This campaign, which is still ongoing, consists of five mutually reinforcing lines of effort

And it’s succeeded, you got 20% of American parroting kremlin propaganda lines. While Russia get the US to roll back global influence programs and Russia gets the space to breath with added resources and influence.
Oh crap... Do you still believe Putin hacked the '16 election for Trump to beat Hillary? LOL. Are you as offended that Ukraine made up a fake dossier to help give credence to the Steele dossier that the fbi used to spy on Trump? I get the feeling you are OK with Ukraine interfering in our elections for some reason.

That isn't an ad hominem argument and the point is somewhat valid. I've voted for Trump 3 times now but to be perfectly honest, he's concerning me this time. His shouting match was childish at best.
Did you watch the whole press conf or just the end? It was about 50 minutes. Zelensky kept wanting argue and renegotiate the deal. This was the 3rd times he's done this. He agrees to a deal then when they go to sign he wants to renegotiate. Rubio and Bessent had the same thing happen last week. How much should we bend over for Zelensky?

So Russia has a secret weapon that can cause all those symptoms but haven't used it in a war "they are losing".... LOL.
He posted this as evidence that Russia is our enemy.

It evidently never occurred to him as he was typing it that our government funded research on a virus that killed millions, and not one person has been held accountable.

Russia collusion. The Kaaba and Polaris for liberals. That they ALWAYS come back to it is all the evidence we need that they cannot escape their TDS.

Well, does this count as "western"?

Now look up a poll on "who would you vote for?".... See what you come up with. "supporting" your president during war it's normal for approval ratings to go up. Bush even saw a huge plus in "approval". But the polls I've seen show Z around 13 to 15% support for the election and Zalushney at about 23 to 26%.

Ok, so, how many nukes does Russia have pointed at us? NATO is already at their door. I wonder why Putin didn't attack Finland since his excuse is NATO expansion. That excuse is bs, by the way.
For 30 years people at the State Dept have said Ukraine is a red line. You keep ignoring that fact and keep bringing up all the other times we advanced NATO and Russia did nothing but it doesn't change the fact that they said repeatedly that Ukraine joining NATO was an existential threat to their country and they would destroy it before they allowed that to happen. Some people are just not wanting to admit they got called when they thought they were bluffing.

Plus if you look at history... Germany used the path through Ukraine to move the most tanks and artillery. The northern route has more bogs, trees, rivers, mountains and hills to deal with. There is a reason NATO is planning their largest base in Romania. You have sea routes for cargo drops and a lightly populated area in the south of Russia.

Interesting thread comparing the Trump negotiation with the taliban/afghanistan and parralels to the Ukrainian negotiations

Bluesky

the only thing interesting about this article is you guys celebrated bidens withdrawl, with ppl hanging off planes

Anyway, can you give us a definition of what victory for Ukraine is in this war? What exactly is it?

I wish everybody that I’ve disagreed with today and through this thread will read this and understand: it’s not about Trump. It’s bigger and deeper than how you feel about him.

It doesn't matter, they're just going to scream putin puppet.

It is true, Z is getting his briefing and advice from Clinton/obama/biden ppl. Which is aligned with their own interests which includes to continue with the statement above.

McCain founded the international Republican institute. Nuland the center for a new American security. Both fully funded by usaid and tools for regime change.

Nuland went on to be a nato ambassador and NED biard member. There are several videos out there of nuland bragging about their regime change and censorship tactics working. Those tactics include coups and election fixing to make sure they have friendly leaders in the nations they target.

Its exactly why this pro Ukraine stuff is massive NPC nonsense. Theyre literally using z as a puppet. They own 90% of the msm. They paid a fortune for influencers to frame narratives.

The entire thing is a lie. They brag and laugh about it. So if you "stand with Ukraine" you were literally a brainwashing victim. Ya its embarrassing im sure but its even worse you won't admit reality.

Putin saying anything doesn't make it true. And because for once it was true, doesn't make his invasion right, does it? Me, I don't believe a dam thing he says & if something happens after he said it would happen, it's coincidence to me.

BTW, to believe everything Trump says? You believe everything the State Dept. says, particularly under Dim Presidents?

You're so gullible.

Hitler went south because of oil & STALINgrad. Nothing to do with terrain. I can tell you firsthand Poland is nothing but flat. Had he continued as he stated, he would have overrun Moscow & ended the war.
