The remnants of the B12 didn't really shine yesterday.

Baylor upset by Tx St.
Tx Tech upset by Wyoming.
TCU upset by CO ( although CO obviously light years better than last year, still TCU was 20 pt favorite).

Conference still doesn't seem to play any defense. Will they survive as a P5 after next year?
Have to wonder if Aranda at Baylor is getting heat. 2-3 years ago he was a red hot coaching name but they were sub-.500 last year, yesterday's showing was hardly inspiring.

TCU lost to a Big 12 team. Glass houses:

Utah 24 Florida 11
North Carolina 31 South Carolina 17
Florida State 45 LSU 24

The SEC did manage to beat a bunch of cup cakes, and Tennessee did beat UVA impressively. But not an impressive weekend for the SEC at all.

CO is not a B12 team until next year. Still Pac12.

You failed to mention that TCU was a 21 pt favorite. I'm guessing Baylor was at least that much, too. Tech probably a double digit favorite.

LSU was slight favorite. Florida was definitely underdog. Not sure but I think SC was also an underdog, but not big, IIRC. So, not exactly apple to apples, wouldn't you agree?

You're correct that SEC looked pretty bad, too. I'll take Georgia and Bama against every B12 team, though.

Utah closed as 5.5 pt favorites over Florida
LSU closed as a 2 point favorite
North Carolina closed as 2.5 point favorite of South Carolina.

The SEC definitely has the cache to deal with rival fans wanting their agenda to be heard. BIG 12 or whatever their number is will be trash starting next year. Not that they have been winning anything in football as it was.

Big whatever shouldn't get an automatic bid to 12 team playoff IMO.

Honestly just take the 12 highest ranked voted in teams by the committee. Shocking to pick the best regardless of conference.

Some years the big 10 plus 8 may get more than the SEC and I'm ok with that.

SEC doesn't have much to brag about for 2023 so far

Florida looked awful against a Pac 12 team, LSU and USCjr blown out by ACC foes.

This week 2 could be catastrophic

Texas good shot at Bama in Tuscaloosa
Texas a&m gonna have a fight in Miami
Ole Miss on the road at the best G5 team Tulane
Auburn @ Cal, AZ vs Miss St, Vandy an underdog at Wake Forrest

Kind of apples to oranges except for Fl St. / LSU
UTAH picked to win their division, Ranked heisman hopefully starter at QB.
FLORIDA picked to finish 4th in their division , new transfer QB that won the job last week of camp. Coach ready to be canned by fans.
UNC same as above. Expected to contend for division. Returning heisman candidate as well
USCe Shane Bamer. Hot Dogs and also picked 5th with Hot/Cold Ratter
Exactly what I expected. Only the SEC moniker gave them a chance.
