The Really Good UK Player People Have Forgotten About Thread

Conley was far from a point guard. He played small forward on Rupp's Runts. Kron was the point guard and Dampier was the shooting guard. Conley never played point guard in his entire career at UK.

Their was that one game against UT that Rupp put Louie in one corner and Riley in the other. He moved Conley to guard with Kron and they we're both point guards.Conley was one of the best passers in UK history.

I'll echo Allen Edwards, people forget he got hurt and couldn't play in the 97 championship forcing Epps to the two and pressing Turner into starting. A healthy AE and book #7 a year earlier. Not only a terrific defender but a solid scoring option. He had a really good season after DA went down only to break down almost at the finish line.

People always remember Anderson going down but that was way earlier in the year. What really cost us that title was losing Edwards for that game.
Epps on Simons says it all to me.

I always loved his name and most of you will not know who I'm talking about, Linville Puckett...."A Bucket By Puckett." Yes I know he only played two years at U.K. Coach Rupp took his name down from the rafters if I remember correctly.

I am partial to Ravi Moss. Loved his love of the Cats, his game, the fun and intensity he brought to the team.

What about Jim Master? Couldn't really guard anybody with quickness and couldn't hit a contested layup, but he could shoot. Boy could he shoot.
