The Peripheral

Seems like the future tech has some issues. The mom going blind again definitely a hint at that. The robot falling for the dude is another.

That is what the klept is after. Is that the same thing that Aelita stole from the Research Institute?
Yes. That came across as clear to me, so unless I misunderstood (which is possible), that's what Cherise/the RI wants back so badly. Not sure what else it could be, TBH.

Edit: confirmed.

"Ash reveals that Aelita planned to download the stolen R.I. files into Burton’s haptic implants, storing them in the stub where they’d be untraceable. But since Flynne posed as him, the headset transformed the data into bacteria that began to colonize her brain. Ash says they were planning on giving the data to the neoprims so they can burn this world down and build a new one. Zubov warns them not to betray him again."

Well, interesting...latest episode makes it clear that there's more info stored in Flynne's brain than just that behavioral mod stuff.

Peretz Bernstein, lead singer for Jane's Addiction, chose the stage name Perry Farrell as a riff on the word peripheral.

The streamers screw sci-fi fans over every time. Somebody needs to figure out how to balance budget with FX needs from the start. I think they go big hoping to create a hit when they should probably focus on sustainability.

Some of these shows get a 1 or 2 year guarantee, but they don’t know if they will get more and it appears sometimes that they don’t know where the show goes beyond the guarantee. And, then, sometimes the writers move on and the original vision is lost.
And LOST is a perfect example of your point. Started off great and then kinda trailed off as the writers struggled to find a direction. Seemed like they were surprised that the first couple of seasons were a hit and it was extremely popular. Almost like they expected it to be cancelled after one or two seasons.

That show for sure only had two seasons of content lol. You could tell from there, it was completely seat of the pants and got stupid
