True story: I walked in with my buddy once, no one came over to offer us service, we looked around unimpressed, got up and leftAKA "KSPissBar". Dumpiest place I've ever visited.

Pretty sure this place was Catspause when I first joined, then it got switched to Cats illustrated after some 24/7 or something stuff went down, but free board I'm pretty sure was always called Rupps Rafters. Guess this is different than that change in that Rivals itself was sold? but is it true the founder of oN3, bought Rivals and brought it out of bankruptcy around 2001 and later sold it to Yahoo(2007?), so he is basically just buying it back from Yahoo after about 18 years?Hopefully Daryl Bird can take back this board and bring it under the Catspause brand.
IIRC the switchover from Catspause to Cats Illustrated was pretty hilarious.
There was a few hour period where people were posting nonsense into the void, unsure if the site would just go dark or continue.
I interpret that as the board will not be free.
I remember people were test posting Matt Jones’ name to see if their posts would get deleted. Catspause forbade any mention of Jones. We had a watch going on that night. I remember posting this.

Doesn't seem like they're in the free business. That unfortunately doesn’t answer a lot of our questions about this board remaining and remaining
free.
I love the job my barber does, went to him yesterday. Only sport he was interested in talking about was WNBA and Kaitlyn Clark, not sure I’ll go backI have enjoyed reading (mostly reading) the free thread for years… Why anyone would pay to talk sports is beyond me but people do… I would think that forums like this could be reconstituted by someone but perhaps not… But damn if I’m going to pay money to read the same stuff I can hear in the Barber Shop… Well unless you go to the solon😁
I tend to cringe when I hear corporate types say things like " we are giving you more value". Code for bend over and wait for it.
Within 2-3 years it would die out from lack of new members because nobody would find it.Why couldn't someone just create an account on a platform like MeWe and start a new forumn? I use to be a member on a message board there a few years ago. It was pretty simple and last I checked it was free.
I know. That’s what I’m worried about. Decades of good Uk discussion being thrown in the trash in the name of the almighty dollar.Doesn't seem like they're in the free business.

It isn't a matter of attracting new members. It is a matter of keeping a message board alive so the fans on this site can continue to discuss.Within 2-3 years it would die out from lack of new members because nobody would find it.
Right, but people will drift away for various reasons and nobody will replace them. I've seen it happen other times. It isn't a matter of attracting new members. It is a matter of keeping a message board alive so the fans on this site can continue to discuss.

We could still advertise it. All you have to do is copy the forum link and post on Facebook, Twitter etc. I would certainly try something like that instead of just giving up.Right, but people will drift away for various reasons and nobody will replace them. I've seen it happen other times.
