The only teams that have not won the SEC east

Well as they say Rome wasn’t built in a day. A handful of years ago if you told me we would’ve won 10 games 2x had the best recruiting class in school history, was playing in almost NY6 bowls. Had receivers like Key brown, wandale, Tayvion ect. Had a big strong QB to throw the ball to them who might be considered one of the top few in the draft I’d tell you you had went looney.
Some of you should really go back and watch 2011 ish - 2015 that was horrible.
We have came from a cellar dweller, who lost to vandy by 40 to a Top 25 team who as fans are upset because we lost the first game and there goes the playoffs. Like what? At least he realistic. We said that OM, TN and GA was likely losses may be able to sneak one of TN or OM but if not 9-3 is a great year. We we just about got that sneaker in at ole miss.
but we still have a outside shot at 10-2 or a really good shot at 9-3.
We were never legit title and playoff contenders.
Now next year shore up the line. Everyone’s position is up for grabs in the transfer market, get a QB, and probably a running back. That should be under works right now no excuse not to be scouting around.
man’s we will be pretty good next year as well but to think and be upset that we aren’t likely to be SEC champions is just asanine to me and sure am glad that a lot of you aren’t my boss.

No it won't change and if they lump everyone into one Mega division when ou and TX join we will never finish in top 2. If they keep divisions logically moving bama and auburn to east makes sense and that won't help vandy and uks chances.
I posted this because it seemed this was the year UK could catch lightning in a bottle and win the east. I mean mizzou and the usc lite has done it. They are newcomers to the sec. It’s just a huge letdown, that winnable game saturday.
They can still win the East. Just beat the remaining SEC teams, which would have been the case anyway if they had beaten ol miss. Well I guess if they had beaten ol miss they could lose to miss st and still be in the hunt but can’t now, depending on the record of everyone else in the East. Probably not going to happen but possible.
They both backdoored their way into an east title when the east champ consistently had 2+ losses. Don’t get me wrong, I’d take that, but it isn’t the same as winning outright by being an undefeated or 1 loss team
Doesn't the Ole Miss game give you a bit more confidence Stoops can get the team ready for Georgia?

This is the moment the era all of us have waited for and it’s frustrating to see old Uk pop up at in opportune times. In a couple years when ou and Texas join forget about it. The heartbreak of losing that game is going to hurt for a while. We do still have a shot at the east, but that win would have been huge for this program.
We weren’t born on third base….having said that I’m 50 years old and this is the most resources I’ve ever seen given to the football program.
Feels like we are chasing a different team piece every year. Sustained success is a by product quality recruiting. Football is the ultimate team sport.
2010 is depressing to think about. USC won the East with a 5-3 record finishing the season ranked 22. One of those losses to Joker. Not that I want to back into one, but I would love a season when no other teajs in the East are ranked.
To answer the question, I think we can. As crazy as it sounds, I still think we can this year. Chances are slim, but I still have hope.

I am afraid divisions are about to be part of SEC history. Sankey was on Finebaum and all but said we were going to 1 massive division, and the biggest holdup was 8 or 9 SEC games. If we go to 1 division, I think we need at least 9 SEC games. He did say if it were p games that we would have 3 permanent opponents and rotate the other 6, but would not be a pod system.
It won't as long as Georgia is recruiting like they have. We were not capable of winning it when we had our chance. Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee all went through a stretch where all three not dominate at the same time. That allowed Mizzou and USCjr to win some of them.
That's the problem right there with all the negs.
They're sitting around "waiting" for UK to be good. Meanwhile they have beotched and moaned for 40 years, saying this coach and that "should be fired" because of one play, and "we'll never be good enough" when we miss out on some great recruits. There's always a reason "we'll never win the SEC" according to them.
The only common denominator left for UK is their constant negativity and refusal to support the team. None of their weak assets ever saw us winning more than 8 games, getting 4 and 5 star recruits, or being ranked in the top ten. ITS SO SUPRISING to find they don't think we can win the East or an SEC title.
The ONLY part of "ole UK" left is the negs. They ARE "the cloud hanging over."
When we do accomplish these things, maybe the rest of the fans will be fortunate enough to find that they have either keeled over, lost their ability to type, or speak, or in general just became silent from there forward. May they choke on the first words that come to mind for them.. "it's about time" or "should've happened years ago" or "if they'd have listened to me it would've happened sooner." Delusional and clueless negs gonna neg, though. It's what fear does to people over time

The cloud that hangs my friend is there is still a whiff of moral victories and the loser mentality in the fanbase. It’s not people like me wanting to see expectations raised. Winning and losing are a habit and old habits die hard especially with our traumatized fan base.
If Stoops stays at UK for another 5-7 years then I say UK will win the east at least once...

Stoops has done well relative to our history. He’s also been given a lot more to work with at a time that recruiting to the SEC has never been easier.
losing this last game, in the manner we lost, should be a troubling sign to anyone willing to be objective. Last year’s loss to Tennessee is another easy example. Legitimate contenders simply do not lose those games.
Try and be honest about the staff- if they haven’t been able to do it while Florida, Tennessee, SCAR, and Missouri have all been experiencing turmoil- why do you think he’s ever going to get it done? Are they going to do better when the East improves? When we lose an NFL first round QB?
What is the argument that the lightbulb will finally turn on for Stoops and company? or are we just supposed to be grateful to compete for third or fourth place in our division because of our past failures? I think Kentucky can and should expect more.
