Hammer is coming

Friday evening would be perfect and would provide a let down for the weekend however their baseball team being the college World Series will distract them until July. If Louisville gets hammered then I expect this to be the last competitive team that they have for several years.

I'm soooooo hoping that banner comes down. I would laugh my ass off!!!

It would be great and we all know damn well that this is what SHOULD happen, but I don't think the NCAA has the balls to remove a title banner. Regardless, their 2012 and 2013 seasons are both tainted. We know it and dirty bird fans know it, even if they choose not to acknowledge it.

Forde was on with Drew Deener this morning and basically said from his connections he heard that it did not go well at ALL for Pitino during the COI meeting.

Please little baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling in the manger let this be true and the NCAA punish his lying arrogant ass in a way that would make Job go "damn brother that was too much."

pitino 13 games

2 scholly reductions (1 each for 2 seasons)

a post season ban (already completed)

30 wins vacated from 2011-2012 season and removal of final 4 banner

35 wins vacated from 2012-2013 season and National Title banner vacated

And then Louisville will appeal, and upon appeal they will get to keep the national title banner and have the number of wins vacted reduced from 35 to 33 for the 2012-2013 season and get to keep their Title banner.

Im basically guessing they will lose all wins from 2012 and lose final 4 banner, and then lose all from 2013 but will appeal it and get 2 wins and their title banner back for 2013. Basically, NCAA will take the title banner initially but then get it back.

JUST MY GUESS....as in my GUESS only. No sources, etc, Im just Guessing.

Whats your thoughts fellas?

Forde did say he expects at least 9 games for Pitino as that has been the norm. He said folks at Louisville are "cautiously optimistic" that the banner stays
Actually Forde said if "If I were Louisville, I would be cautiously optimistic" (10:13 mark of the podcast)

On what basis could they possibly get their banner back on appeal?

If the NCAA vacates the wins it will be because UofL used ineligible players. How can the appeals committee reinstate wins if ineligible players were used?

What they did was hideous. Criminal. Nobody believes McGee was a lone rogue employee. Hell Coach Mike was in it as well. If that criminal UL Foundation was funding a propaganda radio show you know they or one their alumni funneled the money to McGee. The NCAA isn't so stupid to think he worked alone. The Foundation audit results surely made it to them and showed the lack of character, ethics and morality in the UL administrating and athletic department. No way to trust their self serving lying administrators.

I mean... It's pretty cut and dry, no?
Hookers are impermissible benefits, making players ineligible, which means you forfeit games they played in.

I don't think another post season ban is necessary because it punishes kids that haven't been proven to have gotten hookers. I don't even think it matters if The Syphilitic One gets suspended. But games played should be lost and monies gained from them should be repaid. That punishes the university without punishing any innocent current players.

It really should be that simple.

Using players that received illegal benefits, what reasons will the NCAA use to allow them to keep the banner? It will be like they are saying it is OK to use illegal players to win the championship as long as we don't catch you before you win it.

IMO, those wanting to see ul get nailed will be severely disappointed. If a school is going to violate ncaa rules, right now is the time to do it. With the unc scandal hanging out there, the ncaa knows if they penalize any school for lesser issues, they will be under pressure to penalize unc proportionately.....and there's no way the ncaa is going to drop the hammer on unc. Look for ul to get a slap on the wrist....sort of a preview of what's coming for unc.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but no significant penalty will fall, not with Louisville having already self-imposed a postseason ban. The only way the banner comes down is if players were ineligible, and impermissible benefits given to an otherwise eligible player does not make them ineligible, especially in this context where there's no allegation of an amateurism violation.

My Prediction:

The NCAA can't let themselves blow their wad before they catch Cal sneezing in a "suspicious manner" on a recruiting visit or something. Gotta save their ammo so they can really "make an example" out of us.

Cal: "Ah...ACHOOO!"
NCAA Investigator replaying tape: Y-you here that? He clearly said "Two-Fiftttyyyy!"
