From today's press conference, Iowa Offensive Coordinator Brian Ferentz.

Keep in mind:

1) Iowa with the LOWEST rated offense in all of college football through 6 games.

2) Their QB (Petras) lowest rated in college football in efficiency. BUT realize, that same QB has taken 100% of the snaps from center this year despite 3 other scholarship QBs on the roster.

Then this question and answer happened:

He didn’t just throw Padilla under the bus…. He drove over him to boot.

Good Gravy this guy is a complete clown. The media guy should have come back with a quick . . . "Oh I dont know, maybe moving up to NEXT TO LAST in offensive ranking!" He would have become a legend!

The reporter who asked the question did answer Ferentz's question with "making a change" though it wasn't caught on this clip.

You can't really say anything back as a reporter .. they will blackball your ass and you'll never be in that room again.
Or you will be ignored and they won't take your questions
If there’s any reporter that cares about Iowa then you take one for the team. Iowa being able to score points to win football games is more important than putting food on the table. I know it is in my house. UK sports comes before bills and responsibilities.

Reminds me of a joke that was going around twitter a couple weeks ago. Iowa can not be allowed to play Nebraska. Iowa's offense going against Nebraska's defense will create a rip in space/time continuum which would kill us all.

The guy who asked him was Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines register-- Iowa's biggest newspaper and some would call him Iowa's lead beat writer. He's got leverage. Here's the reality: The Ferentz boys don't have a huge fan support they did now that they have had before-- not even close.

Yeah you could tell young Ferentz was already in defensive/sensitive mode before the question was asked. Classic sign of an impending crash.

Of course it does.[roll]

To Brian's credit, he did stand there for 45 minutes and field all the questions. He handled himself about as well as he could have all things considered, but he failed miserably when answering the question I shared the video of.

Brian knows how bad his offense has been and he knows he's using every offensive weapon he has therefore nothing will get batter. I don't feel sorry for Brian or Kirk-- this is on them. They chose during the off-season to stick with the worst rated QB in all of college football and pretty much ignore using the portal to provide instant upgrade at QB.

Seriously, with a "decent" QB this season, because of Iowa's fabulous defense and special teams, this could easily have been a 9 or 10 win team-- easily! Instead, we are looking at very likely a 5-win team, 6 tops. Believe me, it's not just the QB spot. They also have the lowest graded OL among all 66 Power 5 teams. The leading WR in the B1G conference THIS season (Charlie Jones at Purdue) played for Iowa LAST season and was out #4 WR after spring ball last year. I could go on and on.

Would Kirk save face and get some redemption by firing Brian or moving him to a different role? We don’t want Kirk going anywhere anytime soon. And if he does their first call better be to Bob not Mark.

Would he get redemption by firing Brian or moving him to a position to coach? Absolutely. However, there's zero chance that will happen. How would it impact Brian's future coaching career if his Dad demoted or fired him?

What we are predicting will happen is Kirk will help Brian land a job in the NFL as a position coach. Brian spent a few years in New England under Belicheck before coming to Iowa.

When Kirk is done here one day, not knowing when that will be or what situations will exists at the time, Mark would be the most logical call but again, don't think Mark would leave Kentucky.
