The Middle of the Field

This is where our offense and play calling is failing us. Maybe it's PT's inability to hit crossing routes or to complete medium passes across the middle, or maybe the OC just doesn't like to take chances throwing in the middle of the field. But until we can pass to all sectors successfully, our WRs are going to be smothered on the corners, and the LBS are going to cheat up and stop the running game, and there is no way, even with the talent we have at RB that the OL can open holes with 7 or 8 defenders within a couple yards of the LOS. UF absolutely took the game away on the outside passes, and shut down the run game in the middle. That leaves the middle open for short/medium passes, but we tried very few of those.

I'd like to see them put a TE on the line and leave a back in to help pick up the blitz. Then have the TE go 8-10 yds and sit . Hit a couple of those and it starts keeping the lb's honest.

My frustrations exactly...no seam or crossing routes to keep the linebackers and interior secondary honest.
