Tiger will play. I think he will unfortunately continue to struggle, the yips are no joke. Takes a lot of time and sometimes never go away, I'd say the chip yips are the worst to have. You can band-aid putting and driving but it's hard to do with chipping.

Over or under how many chili dips, chunk, chips Tigger has in 2 days.

I have marveled at Tiger's dominance in these last 20 years, but it's looking like he's just about finished... Too many injuries (too many PED's?)... Once he got caught banging random sloots from his wife things went downhill in a hurry.

I agree .... Never hear potential PED use discussed... Ya don't hear the issue brought up in any forum other than joe citizen connecting dots... If it walks and quacks like a duck???? ... The game of golf had/has a lot tied up in the tiger legacy... I agree with you Kramer...

I love watching tiger struggle. Hope he plays a highly visible, painful two days. So easy to cheer against.

I was hoping he would break Jack's record because I wanted to see it. Now that appears to be a foregone conclusion that he can't do it.

I too hate greatness. So glad I didn't get to witness us go 40-0....

Tiger will help early ratings, but not expecting much but more questions about his diminished skills. Golf really could use a Tiger resurgence right now. I think his era is done, but just maybe he has a little bit of greatness left in the tank. That thought is what will keep folks interested in him even though deep down we know he is done playing at an elite level.

Have never seen a Masters so wide open as 2015.

Have to look at Rory, Martin Kaymer and yes, even Sergio (he is long over due to win a major)

Then, look at Jimmy Walker, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, JB Holmes, and Jordan Spieth.

Any of those nine golfers being right there at the end would not surprise me in the least.

I do throw out Tiger (first real tournament back in months??? No way, no F'ing way) and Phil (had his "Jack at Augusta in 1986 moment at the British Open a couple of years ago). They are tired, wired and uninspired and broke in many ways.

I don't know if anyone cares about the LPGA but they just played their first major of the year and it was pretty good. In 2009 Britney Lincecome hit an incredible shot to make an eagle on the last hole to win by 1 stroke. Today she hit pretty much the exact same shots to eagle the last hole to get into a playoff. She won when Stacy Lewis made bogey on the 3rd playoff hole.

Who's the favorite to win? Bubba? Phil looked okay this week. I think I'm going with Jason Day this year. Good Day Mate

Tiger hitting 100's of chips right now... It's Monday but there is no problem. Thursday will tell the tale but as of this moment no yips or shanks. First time I've seen him with music playing while he practices.

Winner will come from this group: Spieth, McIlroy, Holmes, Day or Watson. Pulling for JB but agree this may be Day's turn to win.

Tiger makes the cut. Plays well enough to get people talking about making a run but finishes top 15.

That is a good list, I had forgotten to add Jason Day, he certainly has to be considered in the mix. Can he wade the creek at 13 to play a shot?

I don't care who wins as long as that whiny cocksucker Bubba doesn't. The petulant little bitch might as well wear a skirt when he plays...

Tiger shot a 5 under for his9 holes today. Just Monday but listening to music and even bobbing his head to it while chipping, greeting many players with hugs, laughing with Mark O'Meara throughout practice round, signing some autographs, actually had a 3 footer for birdie on #7 that he grinded over for a long time and hit it 20 feet past on purpose with the crowd getting a big kick out of, and really hitting a bunch of great chips. Don't have any clue if the yips will come out Thursday but Tiger had a great confidence building day today. Couldn't have been any better for a guy who has been in a bad place mentally.

I want nothing more than to see Fatrick win the green jacket. I simply can not imagine the size of his "I don't give a touch" after closing one out at Augusta. He might kill a hooker in Butler Cabin just cause.

I am on the same page as others in this thread. I think it is Justin Day's time to win a major. Really like the guy and his game is perfect for Augusta. I hope Bubba never wins another major or tournament ever again. Others I can see making a run are Dustin Johnson, Spieth (can he overcome the Sunday jitters), and Rory. Not sure about JB, but if he putts like he did last Sunday then he could make a run. He definitely has the length for Augusta and has been hot this year.

More than likely, it will be someone nobody talks much about. Would say who I would like to see win it the most is Matt Kuchar. One of the nicest guys on tour who should have a major on his resume by now.

That is also a distinct possibility. Who saw Cabrera v. Kenny Perry coming? How did Trevor Immelman happen? Or Charl Schwartzel? And Zach Johnson is damn good, but his game in no way fits Augusta, yet a rare cold snap gave him a chance and he took home a green jacket.

My favorite of the Majors and don't have to listen to "mash potatoes" after ever drive.

OT: Masters

Wow, do some of us (me anyway) need an off topic for a few minutes. Here is my Masters run down.

Power Rankings

1) Jason Day

2) Jordan Spieth

3) Bubba Watson

4) Jimmy Walker

5) Adam Scott

6) Snedeker

Darkhorses: Chris Kirk and Bill Haas.

Others:

Stenson- Had illness last week. Kind of scares me a little.

Rory- Great player but this is his Palmer's PGA. Can he ever win it???

Dustin Johnson- Could win it. Could miss the cut. Just like his life. He is boom or bust.

Rickie- Pulling for Rickie. He has the game to be in contention. Needs to start winning. Top 5's are getting old.

Old farts in contention: Olazabel, Couples and......Woods.

Winner hits it long and putts great. That is Jimmy Walker to a tee. Unfortunately, this is probably Bubba's to lose. Can't see him winning three of four though. Just not historically likely.

Matsuyama is playing great right now. Carded two 80's in last three rounds at Augusta however. Doesn't have a bad club. Has the game.

No place on earth like Augusta!

Nice guy power rankings. This is a top tier of nice guys to pull for at Augusta.

1) Steve Striker
2) KJ Choi (Not an American but an incredible great guy)
3) Brandt Snedeker
4) Adam Scott
5) Mike Weir
6) J.B. Holmes
7) Webb Simpson

Biggest pricks:

1) Bubba Watson (Had already been up close and personal but solidified his Bo Ryan prickishness at Valhalla.)
2) Ian Poulter
3) Patrick Reed

Justin Rose at 40/1 is probably worth a few bucks. Drives the ball well and doesn't putt poorly. Struggled some with hole proximity which of course would hinder putting. If the wind gets up on the weekend, it will lengthen the course which actually will bring some shorter hitters into play. Par 5's are basically par 4's for the long hitters. If that playing field is leveled and everyone is laying up, look out for Zach Johnson, Jim Furyk, and 1000 to 1 shot Mike Weir.

Good call on Ricky in your other post. Another young gun who I would like to see win.

Look, everyone has their favorite. Some only want Americans to win. Some want the old stable to win. Day is not my first choice, but he is a great player and by all accounts a great guy. He has the game to win at Augusta and is due. Bubba is American, but a complete tool. Poulter is European and even worse. Its just hard to root for those kind of guys.

As I said earlier, I will root the hardest for Kuchar but doubt his game is at the level it needs to be at now. J.B is my next choice because he is a KY guy. After those guys, I have to go with one of the young guns because golf really needs guys like Jordan, Rory, Ricky, Jason and others to really start battling one another in majors and take the game to a new level post Tiger and Phil.
Obviously, Tiger or Phil being on the leaderboard takes this Masters to a completely different level, but very slim chance.

Don't count Kuchar out. Especially if the winds get up on the weekend. The Par 5's are key at Augusta. McElroy has never played them great. I think he is -22 in 21 rounds on the Par 5's and that is not conducive to winning. Therefore, if the winds get up and turn the Par 5's into layups for the big hitters (Watson, Walker, McElroy, etc) then shorter hitters might have a better shot. Kuchar is one of those. I don't anticipate that to happen and figure the Par 5's will again decide this tournament. But if they don't, Kuchar has a great shot.

I am interested to see how Patrick Reed does. Big stage. I could see him winning this, or blowing up at some point. Speith is my pick overall.
