The Last Dance on at 9 pm ET

The NBA reached its zenith during the late 1980’s with fantastic Laker/Celtics championship matchups. The downfall began with the disgustingly thug Piston teams & were continued with the Jordan rules - a foul was called if a defender breathed on his enormous ego. The Bulls artificial dynasty was the handiwork of the media, officials, & greedy NBA management. The NBA became unwatchable & gets worse every year.

Guys whining about profanity on a cable network might be the funniest thing I read all day long.

Nah, you are blowing the comments out of proportion (imagine that on this board). Nobody said they were offended and nobody complained despite your stupid post. People just asked when ESPN got the go ahead to air stuff with F bombs. Name a time other than this that they or any other normal cable channel has done this. You can't name a single one. Pay for view, sure, normal Cable...never.

Actually, if you’ve been paying attention, you would notice that increasingly cable networks are able to get away with more and more profanity. I’ve noticed it in movies being shown on MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and others.

ESPN2 airs the bleeped/clean version if a few f-bombs bother you.
I could not imagine watching a bleeped version myself.

Jordan isn't a nice person but it's silly how some of you let hate cloud your judgement.

From Basketball Reference - Career FT Rate

Wilt .505
Magic .489
LeBron .407
Jordan .358

Nobody is "whining" about it. The only reason it caught my attention is because it's something new that I'd never heard on ESPN before ..and thus it provoked curiosity about when the rules changed on this.

I can assure you that I am in no way offended by the sound of F-bombs.

I've noticed that too. Not only has ESPN broken the F-word barrier for this doc, but it almost seems like they're going out of their way to get in as many F-bombs as possible.

I get the impression that they must be telling these guys before the interviews "It's OK to say f*ck for this one, so please say f*ck as many times as you want..."

To me, someone who constantly talks like that and can't say a sentence without vulgar profanity lacks intelligence.
You aren't able to express yourself and make your point without many, many F bombs. You're lacking.
Plus, if you're using it all the time, you lose the impact of the well-timed F-bomb that's sometimes needed for extra emphasis...;)

I think Jordan's still irritated over Pippen and his Game 7 migraine against the Pistons. I expected him to go-in on him, but he didn't.

Hopefully the later episodes gets into the Dream Team and how Jordan and other players blackballed Isiah Thomas from being on the team. Isiah's always been a bitch and I love seeing Jordan rip him to shreds.

Just strictly as a basketball player able to do whatever he wanted against the other best-in-the-world players, Jordan might have been at his peak BEFORE the Bulls started winning championships. He was 28 when they first won, still very much in his prime, but he looks even more super- naturally athletic in those clips when he's about 24-26...Of course, it is all the leadership things, the knowledge of the game, and so on, that makes him arguably the greatest ever. But man does he look amazing in those earlier clips.
He looks amazing and the guys who played against him confirm he was as amazing as he looked.

Good observation. I agree. I had forgotten but he literally appeared to levitate at times. There are freak athletes and then there is Jordan in his early 20s.

That quote was awesome...."If you had a headache and I gave you a bnottle with 10 pills in it, and told you that 9 would work, but one would kill you. Would you take it'?
Jordan: "depends on how bad the $%%$ headache is".
I said he'll no, as most everyone would. I suppose? That's the difference in mentality. Jordan is the Goat

If you were MJ---what type of ego would you have? All greats have them some ego, brother. I look at him like this:

He sacrificed his game, for the betterment of the team. THink about that...If he doesn't buy in to the triangle, and Phils system, well, this documentary doesn't exist.
I would still treat people with class and dignity, especially my teammates. Unlike Jordan .

Jordan has given millions upon millions, and facilitated millions more, for charities. But look, people always expect people of his financial status to do more....Why?

Yeah he was a dick....But he wanted to win. Most of the guys who played along side him, were thankful they did. SHit look at the props he gave Rodman---Called him one of the smartest players he EVER played with. I mean he said, EVER. Rodman.

Maybe not as accommodating to fans as some feel he should have been. BUT, I mean, put yourself in his shoes. His celebrity status...I mean, how accommodating would you be after years of this?

Here's someting told about MJ that I loved:

When asked about why he played so hard, every game....

"because there is probably someone in the stands who's never seen me play. I didn't want them walking away disappointed....Saying, yeah---I saw him play and he only scored 12 points...

Or on why he dressed so nice...

"because I knew someone in a lobby was going to see me for the first and maybe only time...I wanted to leave a good impression."

Dude cared what his fans thought...

Yeah, bad person indeed.
Are you Jordan's mother , PR man , or just a nut hugger , lol . Seriously dude , you can't force someone to love Jordan . You seem to have some kind of man crush or fetish about him . It's creepy.

Dude, the Pistons beat the shit out of him. Those weren't fouls---that was assault.[laughing]

I love how some act as if MJ was the only star to get, well, star treatment...C'mon, man. Also, keep this in mind: No one could guard that mudder****er. Its why the Pistos basically committed felony assault on his ass..

I see you're a little defensive of your hero and know nothing about Bird or Magic.
Have a nice day.
Defensive? No. I mean don't you find it silly to call someone defensive for simply rebutting a statement? Who should I have said: "You are right"? I mean I could say, "You seem a little defensive about your hero's, Bird and Magic"----Right?

Also, I know plenty about Bird and Magic.

Bird was a ROOKIE on a team that only won 30 games the previous year: They won 61 his rookie season.

Then they added Parish and Mchale... Then Ainge...Then Dennis JOhnson..

Here is what DIDNT happen----They did not change the structre of Bird, and the offense. Didn't happen.

Same with Magic...MOF, the hiring of Riley was great for Magic. He was the focal point from Day one with Riley---Get the ball, and go.

As for MJ? When Jackson came in, he totally changes the entire offense. runs the triangle. Convinces Jordan to be more reliable in his teammates---Then gets him some dudes he can do that with. Jackson says as much.

I love Bird, and Magic. Esp, Bird. But those two didn't "give up the ball" so to speak as MJ was asked to do.

Not crazy about Lebron either. I'm not talking about the player , I'm talking about the person.
Tell us.....Where did Jordan touch you?[laughing]

Its no secret, only Jordan nut danglers wear blinders about it.
Oh, I am quite aware of how demanding the dude was. You are right---It was common knowledge. Many have said---If you wasn't mentally tough enough, he would run you out of town. BUT...those same guys, or most, also said they were grateful for being pushed ...

But only a Jordan hater would wear blinders about that.

You really are clueless. Bird and Magic saved the NBA because they were unselfish players. They made passing the ball cool. My goodness. Maybe watch some highlights on Youtube or something.
Magic was a Point guard and Bird was referred to as Point Forward. Why? Because they enjoyed passing as much or more than scoring.
The more I read your post and I realize just how uninformed and unaware you are.

This is absolutely true. Anyone who buys into this absurd revisionist notion that Jordan saved the NBA needs to rewatch this tremendous HBO documentary on Magic and Bird, for it tells the true story:

Jordan did indeed do wonders for raising the NBA's profile. But he ain't the one who saved it from that malaise the league was enduring in the late 70s. Instead, that was the work of Magic and Bird being a different kind of superstar ...one that valued passing above scoring and winning WAY above stats.

I do believe Jordan is the GOAT, but he still was just riding on Bird and Magic's coattails in terms of his role in the NBA's stratospheric rise in the 80s and 90s.

MJ summed Kobe up perfectly.

“He’s gonna take the game and make it one on one. He’s not gonna let it come to him.”

This is true, but that ain't much different than how MJ approached the game. Pot calling kettle... Neither MJ nor Kobe were known for the "pass first" mentality that epitomized Magic and Bird.

But that approach still worked mighty well for Kobe, right?

Love the Last Dance series. Great stuff! Takes me back to when the game was so fun to watch. Alot of good memories being brought back from when the very best players determined the games results on the court by blood sweat and tears.

Love Michael Jordan and the other players giving their insight as well.

Very good TV.
