Fulkerson then got good posistion under the basket in transistion and after great entry pass because there was no ball pressure, got an and 1, and cut the lead to 2. Totally unacceptable! It was pretty much ball game after that.

I about stroked out that made me so mad...he did it again close to that point in the game and gave absolutely no effort getting back down the court...had 2 plays where he game no effort at all

Yep, I saw that too, it was after he drove right into three defenders and lost the ball. WTF do you expect to happen when you run into three defenders? And has he ever went in for a layup and not fell down? Seems as if he is trying to draw a foul instead of making a basket.
I usually won’t dog the kids, but I noticed this too. Not a good look at all. Very selfish.
He has to get him to the NBA this year.

but no he missed the 2nd free throw, then made more key errors & took a 3 point shot when UK needed a score badly
He just won't accept that he CAN NOT shoot, that is why he is so wide open
UK is basically playing 4 on 5 with Hagans in the game

The lack of hustle getting back is a problem. The video of him yelling at Richards to give him the ball, and the selfish of driving into defenders with no desire to kick it to someone for a score are a big, big problem. Cal doesn't feel he has anyone who can replace Hagans. He has to have two shooting guards on the floor. Hagans ain't one of them.
He has done this for the last 3 weeks. It wasn't new to last night.

I just about descended from my seat in the rafters to jerk him out of the game myself on that one. I don't like to criticize individual players on public forums, but that was piss poor. Missed shots, turnovers, defensive breakdowns happen sometimes, but there is no excuse for dogging it like that and letting your teammates down.

He's done this quite a bit the second half of the season. More often it is after out of control drives where he misses and doesn't get the call...but still happens too often on turnovers.
We need him to get his swag back and get his head back into making UK be the best they can be instead of trying to do too much. He was getting plenty of publicity early in the season when he was just playing good, solid basketball.

How about against auburn when he was complaining to the ref while the ball was still live and an auburn player saved it right towards hagans (would’ve been an easy layup if he gave his all every possession) but instead auburn guy steps in grabs it and goes down and hits a 3. Lmao. Plays like these and the fact that he flexes like he’s John wall or something after a standard layup is why I can’t stand him.
The way Cal yells at Maxey, I'm convinced Maxey has been told in private that because Hagans is incapable of taking coaching aka constructive criticism during a game that he'll yell at Maxey when Hagans is messing up. I played for a Coach who did this and pulled Captains in and told them he's going to yell at them sometimes because he's pissed at another player, and as a player you know the difference.
I'm just ready for a new system. No, I don't have a coach in mind that I can guarantee would pick up where Cal left off (Cal's first five years). I'm sure a coach will pop up that we all can agree to throw out support behind. I DO NOT envy the position of the athletic director.
I'm content with Cal and being in the conversation every year. FFs and Titles are hard to come by. It's frustrating sometimes but we were just voted team of the decade.
If in another 5 years we haven't been back to a final 4 then at that point maybe it is time for a move. But I think Cal leaves in 5 years anyways, the only reason he is still here is bc he wants that 2nd title imo.
Kid will never play in the NBA but I believe he will leave anyway and I sure hope so. We don’t need him next year. You can’t be elite if you’re lucky to hit the rim when u shoot.

When we talk about players returning for next year, Hagans is never brought up. I think it's a given that any pg that plays 2 years for Cal will never see a 3rd year in a UK jersey. Is what it is and is a direct reason why half the NBA has played for UK, but Cal only has 1 title in 11 years.
Quite simply put, young guys let go of the rope when the lights are at their brightest, but we're always going to roll with freshmen. Yippeee.

It’s been really disappointing to see the difference in trajectories of Dotson at Kansas and Hagans and even Tre Jones at duke to a lesser degree.

Bench him in favor of who? Recruited 3 guys to play at SF and got very little SF talent in return. JJ just not ready for 20/30 mins. And forget Brooks at SF. same with Whitney.

Isn’t this the same attitude we criticize in players leaving for the NBA too early hoping success will just land in their laps? The grass is not always greener on the other side, and you don’t sell your house with a hope that you’ll find a better lawn before you become homeless.
All of the available scholarships need to be used up. The players at the end of the rotation need to understand that scholarships are renewed year by year, you are not guaranteed one next year. For example: AJ Stewart and Kevin Galloway didn’t get theirs when Cal arrived. Other blue bloods have a full bench of players. I don’t see how our starters are getting tested in practice by walk-ons.
This has been going on for some time--in the last Tennessee game it cost Sestina a 3rd foul in 1st Half as he laid down on the baseline after a play and they had to defend 4 on 5. The only thing more annoying then a whiny player who is playing like dog$hit is when they come out with the "I apologized to my teammates, coaches, etc..." and in his case, this has already taken place 2/3 times this year for poor play--at some point "My Bad" falls on deaf ears. Play better or sit and let someone else play.
Imo Cal is in this situation with Hagens because Whitney was such a huge flop. If Whitney would’ve been anywhere close to the level that Maxey is at then Cal could afford to sit Hagens and the team would still be in good shape. Now that they’ve gone to three guards Cal Doesn’t have much flexibility on who plays.
