That these teams have when going against Kentucky in these games is the amount of freedom and nothing to lose attitude they get to play with.

It seems like the players and coaches all feel the collective anxiety and pressure to win these types of games and it has bled off into our play on the court in these past few tournaments.

It doesn't help when the opposing coaches and players go and spout about how confident they are in beating us because they know they have nothing to lose.

We need to come out of the gates and jump out to an early lead with high energy plays and/or a big dunk from someone. I think Thiero is someone to watch early on to get us going with something like that. Cats need to release the pressure early on and NEVER step off the gas.

If there's one player we don't have to worry about "bringing it" every game, it's Thiero.

He may not be the offensive player some of the others are, but is just as important.

It’s always been that way and it never mattered. The problem isn’t the confidence teams feel, it’s that they can actually submit their will against Kentucky teams. It’s ridiculous especially when a minor adjustment or just playing the right lineups would end it. We’re in a rare situation right now, Calipari is the only coach in D1 who will walk into a game mildly prepared and without the best lineups. He’s the only coach I’ve ever heard of who admits winning isn’t a priority and cares more about individuals than team concepts. He’s one of a kind so it’ll straighten out soon.
