Calm down people. There is no wonder that other fan bases hate us. A lot of you are acting like spoiled entitled adolescent children. Gain some perspective.

I agree, but it's just the way we are
Some people deserve it. We're in the middle of one of the greatest runs in NCAA history (four F4s and a title in 5 years) , we endure a little adversity (a F4 loss, our only loss of the season, and lose a couple recruits) and some people lose all confidence. It's pathetic.
UK's going to suck next year; we'll never get another recruit; Duke's going to repeat; waaaaah waaaaaah; booo hoooo.
Have some confidence in your coach and program. Show some resilience.

We're just hardcore bro. That's all it is. For us winning is everything. There's something wrong if fans don't get mad about the way recruiting has been going, or about us getting beat by Wisconsin. If your not embarrassed and pissed off about that then something's wrong. And we freaking think its funny that other fan bases hate us.

I have a recommendation for you. Get tickets to the next SEC tournament. I've attended the last three. I can't even count the number of KY fans I've seen, talked to or watched cheer even when the Cats aren't on the floor that day. When we're playing . . . WOW. That's the fan base. Its strong. Its good. Its not here.
Here you have some of those great folks. But you also have some bitter and mean folks, some folks that just like to stir others up, some non-fans that like to push the buttons of others. The real fan base is out in the real world. This forum as well as others are merely entertainment, maybe an opportunity to get some snippets of news and VERY rarely, a place to have a legitimate discussion about the Cats.
I went through a phase where I got really down on the fan base. As I live out of state, this was mostly my contact with it. Then I had a unique opportunity to get tourney tickets and I got my perspective refreshed there. Its an expensive rehab, but it works. The heart breaking thing is we have a number of faceless folks here that make the real blue fog look bad and they don't really care that they are doing it. Our sheer size makes the numbers of those types larger than other fan bases. The media knows that. They take advantage, in my opinion.

Ohh to be 18 again. I don't get embarrassed over losing recruits, games, or anything related to my team. It's not a reflection of me. So why would I get embarrassed? The way recruiting is going? The last time I checked we had a top 3 class. Again, some perspective would serve you greatly.

Has anyone bothered to count the crazies? I bet it's a lot less than you think. It's just lines of text on a screen - if there were 500 of us in a room and 12 people kept making crazy statements, you'd say those 12 are crazy. When all the conversation is on a screen it's hard to get a feeling of whether it's a few, it's close to half, it's a majority or whatever. I don't think there's that many of them......
As in I don't exists? Na I'm playing man. But seriously we're all brothers and I don't appreciate a fellow fan accusing me of being a troll.
Exactly right.The few nuts in any group are always loudest and get the attention.Actually I think most here just love the team and are frustrated with what has been a really rough month.
How has this been a rough month? We went to another final four, had an incredible exciting season, saw several young men realize their dream of playing professionally, watched one of our recruits emerge as the best player in his class, and have another top class coming in. Again perspective.
Well I think losing to Wisconsin in such a painful way,losing 7 special players to the NBA and missing out on some great players sure wouldn't go as a great month.
I'm currently climbing to the top of the Patterson Office Tower in an effort to gain a new perspective.
I don't get this man. I come on here, be myself and get accused of trolling. What's up with that? Again, we're all brothers on here. I love it when people say our fan base is crazy. I mean I freaking love it. We're true fans or at least some of us are. I'm gonna say it again. I'm just a hardcore fan. I take UK basketball seriously you know. I guess there's just a difference in hardcore fans and regular fans.
That line really isn't so fine. Two different perspectives. Most know the difference.
If I was a fan of another team or trolling I'd be saying things like I did yesterday to that Kansas fan. It was in the thread that got taken down about Diallo.
There are a surprising amount of good posters here. I post on the National Board where there is about 1 good UK poster for every "spoiled adolescent children" type.
How is watching these young men achieve their dream bad thing? I don't understand that angle. Such a selfish response. And how did we lose players we never had? Enjoy the journey. We are Kentucky. We will be fine.
If people would just think back to the BCG and latter Tubby years, they would realize just how good we have it now.
What is insufferable to me is the part of the U.K. fan base that feels a seemingly constant need to criticize other parts of the fan base who have a different view of things. This is a chat board. It's purpose is to share opinions - including opinions that differ from yours. If you don't want to hear differing opinions, don't come to the chat board, or don't read any further when you see that an opinion differs from yours. Pretty simple, actually.
While this is obviously true, I think it's kind of missing the point.
The truth is the rules have changed now. Cal has transformed our expectations and I think what most are looking for now is that we be a contender. When you look at our roster as it stands, a lot of assumptions have to be made before a person can assume we will be able to contend.
The rules Cal's playing by are the rules of the top-tier programs, the Dukes, Kansases, Carolinas. The rules Gillispie was playing by were akin to something a mid-major would put up.
Completely different set of circumstances these days, and so our desires and expectations have accordingly changed.
Or I can just criticize like I'm doing now. And if you don't like that then you can heed your own advice and keep scrolling.
We all had the same desires then that we have now, the difference is we have a COACH who can deliver now.

Exactly. Pretty much my experience, although I haven't been to the SEC tournament, but some road games. I too live out of state and unfortunately if you judged all UK fans by some of the bad apples on this site you would develop a very bad opinion of BBN. It's a shame because the majority of the posters are legitimate, but there is a small minority that at times can can make our fan base look really bad. It seems they get attention all out of proportion to their actual numbers.
I could really care less about what other fan bases think... But I do agree people need to take a deep breath. We have a great recruiting class already along with some veterans coming back, we will be fine. And remember Cal has this strange habit of getting us to the final 4 almost every year, everyone relax and enjoy these glory years!

Agreed. This board has as many people whose primary goal seems to be complaining about UK fans as it does those they are decrying.
Cracks me up people whining about the attitudes of strangers on a message board. If you cant take the diverse opinions of folks on an internet message how in the world do you man up in real life ?. If you don't like differing opinions , quit getting on opinion boards .
