The Dillingham Dilemma

Dillingham IMOis one of the best2 guards on this team. Unfortunately he is coming off the bench which seems to make him play hero ball a bit. I would like to see a Bradshaw, Mitchel, Reeves , Wagner and Dillingham starting line up with Reed first off the bench lineup, to see what they could do.
I agree that Dilly would be better as a starter for the reason you mentioned.

Adou seems to be turning into the odd man out which I think is a mistake.

Me too. Think he only played 14mins today. Seems Bradshaw has taken his minutes.
I'm more concerned with Edwards than Dillingham.
It’s a little concerning to me that our last 3 threes ,The Dragon, Livingston, and now Edwards have all gotten off to the same start in their college career. What the heck.

In a single elimination tournament dillingham going 1-9 or 2-14 will also burn us. UNC-W is proof of that. Mind you, we need him and he’s a baller and this is something that would easily be coachable, if he had a coach.
Like you're saying, if we had a coach it wouldn't happen.

Through a 9 game sample size:

14 ppg
5 apg
4 rpg
less than 2 turnovers/game
48% from the field
74% from the free throw line
51% from three

Only 23 minutes/game

A future first round pick who is totally content with his bench role.

You take that any day of the week, and you thank God in Heaven for it.
Wow. Can't complain about those numbers.

Dillingham is exciting, He will make some plays and he will give some away; He will win some games when his shot is falling or he may shoot you out of all ballgame. Unbridled and confident, kinda hold my breath when he is in tbh especially in a tight game.

I think he’s good in current role. AND I think he will play hero-ball some no matter what start or sub. Just who he is.

I disagree, Edwards is better than Whitney by far. He's currently level with Livingston. He has only to go up from here.
Whitney was like you took the most athletic football player and put a basketball in his hands. Zero skills. That’s not Edwards. Edwards is like D.Miller his first 2 seasons, difference is more was expected of him.

Dillingham told cal to STFU one game. I think maybe it was Kansas lol. He kinda reminds me of all of Cal's elite guards. They ignored Cal usually and did what they wanted.

Seems like Cal and his staff have been doing a good job of handling this predicament so far.

Cal def gets on Dilly about some of the silly stuff but has also not shaken his confidence and allowed him to grow.

Good guards on this team but I think also a year we have great guard coaching. Between cal, chin Coleman, Ulis, and whatever Welch is doing on offense I think our guards are benefiting tremendously.
