The College Basketball Coach You Have the Least Respect for

I will always revere Rick Pitino for what he did for this program in the '90's' but he made an IMMENSE mistake by leaving Kentucky. If Rick had stayed at Kentucky, he'd be right up there with Coach K in the converstion as GOAT, and we would have most surely overtaken UCLA in number of championships. And he knows it, and I guarantee you it haunts him.

Instead, his overriding image is that of a bitter old man, who resents Calipari for thriving at his former stomping grounds, and who unwisely banged some mentally unstable slag at Porcini's several years ago.
A curse on Pitino and his house..

Ummm. The NIT year he called his players "uncoachable". Come on man. I get the Blue glasses, but he said it. Total excuse.

Excuses are when a coach who was hardly in the game says that they just ran out of time, now that's a total excuse.

Tim Floyd. He's the Lane Kiffin of college basketball. Hailed as a basketball genius. Even coached in the NBA. Yet still doesn't win. His tenure at USC when OJ Mayo played was a disaster. Arrogant without the credentials. Pure jacka $$.

The Traitor! Can't believe so few up until the end mentioned him. He's truly a dispictable man who looks like a walking zombie, and can't get over the fact that he left UK which I find hilarious, but makes way too many synd comments about UK for me!

I won't answer because this question was clearly not intended for visitors. But I DO have answers. I'm glad not many mention Self.
I like Self and think most on here don't have anything against him, he doesn't blame others or try to discredit other coaches and he is always in the hunt. His one claim to fame is he said "We just run out of time" an d for sure Kansas was cutting into the lead but they were done beat, he could have just not said anything.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I remember the camera cutting to Cal during a game in which he appeared to tell Archie Goodwin, in the heat of the moment and unaware of the camera, (paraphrase) "I can't coach you!". I don't remember him saying anything like that to the press. Did I miss something?

How about his boy if rumors are true and he release Bledsoe's transcripts. Not just if he had something to hide, but Dick Jr, did it against the law and only to spite the player and UK.

NCAA employees admitted that the NCAA illegally released transcripts and we know that the NCAA was leaking info to Thamel on Noel. I just don't buy the theory, that has zero evidence, that Pitino Jr did it. Matt Jones claims to have the secret evidence but, other than that, we have zip. Since we know the NCAA has done it, wouldn't it stand to reason that it was the NCAA that did it? If not, what other players had transcripts released to the media?

Bob Knight for me.

Arrogant, a bully and a hypocrite. Demands respect from others but never gives any himself.

Current: Roy Williams like others have said for obvious reasons.
Mick Cronin. Just don't like his style plus he is a whiney a**.

Past: Bobby Knight. Prick, arrogant, hates Cal, bully etc...
