Both dirty programs go down on same day.
Life is good.
Ole Roy and Larry Brown can kick back and drink a couple co-colers and cry like babies.

The lesser of two cheats? I watched the last few minutes of the UL, UNC game and this was one where I wanted both to lose.

Calling UNC cheaters over an academic scandal is really lame. This is coming from a university that is one of only two schools that have gotten the death penalty in basketball. UK was close to getting it again in the late 80's. So don't go pointing fingers at any other university when that was a part of your own past.
You SOB's were cheating from the 50's thru the 80's and probably are right now, step up admit what you did.Mr Heelbilly tear down those banners

Yes, we now know for sure that all of your coaches... From McGuire to Dean to Guthrie and all of your coaches to Roy were all cheaters!!! The academic scandal is the biggest cheating scandal in the history of college athletics....

It's coming Tarholes.

Going to be interesting to see how certain fans react when a Marcus Lee does his post grad year at UNC.

We got the death penalty for point shaving. Point shaving isn't even a competitive advantage - much less on par with widespread academic fraud over decades which results in the complete desecration of your university's primary mission.

Didn't Larry Brown come from UNCheat, so he was taught the "Carolina Way" and now we all know what that actually means lol !!! I hope they chain the Dum Dome doors shut and I would personally buy all the chains and locks !

Well this should be good.
In before the lock.

So are you denying the academic fraud happened?
If what I read on that report is true I would have to believe that would be the worst scandal in all of college athletics…. Ever. What is your opinion on it?

Also just an FYI, you've already lasted longer over here than any UK fan has lasted over on your board. As soon as your mods see a UK fan post they ban him/her regardless of what was posted so if I were you I would be really careful while you're here.

Wow. Talk about completely and totally clueless.

Calling UNC cheaters over an academic scandal is really lame. . . .

You're right. Cheaters isn't a strong enough word. By merely calling what UNC did cheating you imply that it equates with past transgressions of other schools. Of course, it doesn't. Providing "extra benefits", paying players, etc. is against the rules and cheating - but it's not cheating the young people who are already being taken advantage of by a system exposed as a farce. Actually, looking at it from a fairness perspective, the players deserve any benefit they receive. But an institution stealing the only thing of value they're supposedly giving a student/athlete - an education - is unforgivable. UNC used their players like rented mules, then cheated them out of their agreed upon compensation (as inadequate as it was to begin with). UNC had a moral obligation to guide, push and develop student/athletes academically to get the most from their "education" (i.e., the compensation for the servitude), not devise ways to cheat them out of it so they could stay eligible to provide more benefit for the university. UNC cheated the students and their families - and they did it as a matter of institutional policy for decades. So, here's the word we should use - CRIMINALS. UNC is a thief. It should be put up on the hall of shame with Penn State. Your program should absolutely receive the death penalty, because all other past transgressions pale by comparison.

I know you're enjoying your little pissing contest with UNC fans but once again, Coach Cal considers Brown a mentor and good friend. Think about that when posting stuff like this. I've certainly been reminded of their relationship by Cards fans over the years.

Has your dad or father figure ever been caught speeding? Were you guilty?

You know the cheating is bad enough(worst in the history of sports at any level) but but continued foot dragging by the NCAA and total lack of attention of the whole issue by sports and news media is beyond comprehension.

If this was occurring or even rumored to be occurring at any other institution there would be a public outcry for a full disclosure and swift punitive action. A few years ago UK's coach decided to go to Minnesota and ESPN and the rest of the media tried to make it into a national story with UK being somehow the bad guy in a job change situation.

Where is the outrage over a generation of young athletes being shortchanged and defrauded out of a promised education for the sole purpose of building the reputation of an institutions sports programs

Why don't you ask the poster I quoted that very question? How do you think Cal would feel if he read this about Brown? Bash UNC until turn blue in the face, no need to pull Brown into the conversation.

Not to mention the point shaving scandal has, to this day, holes everywhere in it.

Only if you tear down yours.

You were cheating in academics for athletes gaining competitive advantages. I know it sucks for you finally realizing UNC is one of the biggest cheaters in the history of the sport (only behind KU), but deal with it and stop crying about it.

...and I guess you like 100% of all your friends, friends too? Doubt it. Calipari likes a lot of people I don't, that's life.

Cal votes the big D. Couldn't disagree with him more politically.

That's life. Still the Don.

Fine, but Cal considers Brown a mentor. Bash away at him if want, but I guess we shouldn't whine next time someone brings up his relationship to Brown and calls Cal a cheater too.

The banners hanging in Rupp, all 8 of them, were years where the University of Kentucky won the NC with no ethical cloud over the program in any way, shape or form. Unlike several of the banners at UNC.
This kind of isn't true. We won the championship in 1948, 1949, and 1951. The payments to players and the point shaving happened in 1949. It wasn't a proud moment in our history. There were all kinds of allegations about our illegal recruiting, among other things. I have always felt lucky they didn't take away our championship in 49. Instead they slammed us with the death penalty in 1952-53. I thank God for Cal, because regardless what other fans say, I know he's running a clean ship.

What I don't understand is why has everyone forgotten about the mountain of other things that UNC has gotten away with. There has been little to no mention of the "Wheels for Heels" controversy or the Tami Hansbrough "job" among other controversies.

It seems that everyone has gone all-in on the academic stuff, and put those other controversies away. Why? How is UNC given a pass on these things? Certainly, these wrongdoings more closely match Heelbilly's definition of cheating. Are these incidents to be glossed over too?

You're having a hard time separating the two. If Cal were to come out in support of Brown I could see your point but you are trying to make them one and the same. I won't whine if someone were to suggest what you said, I'd correct them though. We have nothing to worry about, post without fear.
