The Big 10 had 1 team out of 9 make the Sweet 16 and will have none advance to the Elite 8 after Mich St went down.

They haven't won a title in 23 years now but every season the media pumps them up to be the best conference and the selection committee will put 9-10 team in. When will they ever learn?

The one conference who usually doesn't get as much hype but performs well is the Big East. I think it probably has to do with their style of play suits the way games are called. Refs tend to allow more physical play in the tournament and that is typically the way teams in the Big East play so they are already used to it. Other conferences where the refs call 45 fouls per game can have a hard time adjusting to the style of play sometimes.

It was virtually the same story last year - nine entries, no Elite Eight appearances, one, I think, Sweet 16 team. The eyar before was similar. And during that time there have been losses to 16, 15, 14 and other double-digit seeds.

And one championship since 1990. FOR THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE.

The Big Ten should be a one bid conference - Conference Tourney Winner only.
Isn't it embarrassing when a 2 seed loses to a 15 seed?

I'm over talking about conferences and their performances in the tournament. Honestly, who cares.

The BIG10 is a slug-it-out type conference. Teams like MSU, Rutgers, Michigan and IU have been putting more speed on the court, but not enough, they still favor size.
They look decent in conference play against each other, but against teams with elite guard play, they get beat.

Cal would be a good fit in the BIG10. Can he go there… . now?
