Was reading an article on the coach, and it said he was only 49 years old. Can't believe he's that young...thought he was at least 60. Man has not aged well. I know he has had some health issues but dang....

Billy Donovan, according to talk radio this morning !Did he build that out into his IU contract? I doubt they let him, but maybe they were desperate.
When you say "parties", are you referring to barbecue's perhaps? Because then it would REALLY be a good fit. That might actually be a good fit for both parties.
Brad has just proven that he is a good NBA coach, unless he falls flat on his face soon, he will be in the NBA for as long as he wants to be.The coach for the Celtics Brad Stevens will just about get any college job he wants when he is ready. He is the future of college basketball. He wont be an NBA coach long, doesnt matter what seed you were last year, what record, if two strait unfortunate seasons come along heck, maybe one you're no longer the flavor of the month.
Don't think he can get healthy. Had back surgery - ironically at OSU Medical Center - and a nerve was cut. No feeling in his lower right leg, and eventually he's going to lose that leg.Matta is coming out of this in pretty good shape. He has the time to get himself healthy, if he can, while getting paid 3.2M per year for 3 more years.
Nah. At some point it passes from "tradition" to "ancient history." Yale probably still has more national football titles than anyone else....but not exactly a power.Archie is not leaving Indiana. They are still one of the power schools of UK, Ind. Kansas and NC. Ohio state is a step below them. I bet they go after Chris Mack. I would try and get the coach from Florida, if I could.
Unless you're pop and Phil Jackson, probably not. NBA is very fickle business. As Cal has even said, one year you're in playoffs, the next you're looking for a job. There are more coaches with longevity but it's extremely rare.Brad has just proven that he is a good NBA coach, unless he falls flat on his face soon, he will be in the NBA for as long as he wants to be.
I don't know how to link but there is a great article on SB Nation about how no coach is safe. The AVERAGE tenure of an NBA coach is 2.4 years.Brad has just proven that he is a good NBA coach, unless he falls flat on his face soon, he will be in the NBA for as long as he wants to be.
I get that, but I get the feeling that Brad is going to be one of those that is going to be successful in the league. He's got the right demeanor and the right coaching mind.I don't know how to link but there is a great article on SB Nation about how no coach is safe. The AVERAGE tenure of an NBA coach is 2.4 years.
McDermott from Creighton turns Ohio State down. Will they get down the list to Clap Clap Clappy?![]()
That's surprising to me. Ohio St is a jump up from ...Creighton???
he really could be, i was just thinking about all the colleges that would want him IF he didn't. I hope he doesnt go to Duke.I get that, but I get the feeling that Brad is going to be one if those that is going to be successful in the league. He's got the right demeanor and the right coaching mind.
No doubt. He would absolutely kill it at Duke.he really could be, i was just thinking about all the colleges that would want him IF he didn't. I hope he doesnt go to Duke.
That's what I was thinking too. Someone will take it though. It's too big to be passed up by most coaches out there.Starting to wonder if Matta was kicked out in a manner that other coaches don't like.
