They've won 2 straight conference games for the first time in 3 years and move into 7th place in the BIG 12. Good write up on ESPN yesterday on how they MIGHT be on the bubble for the tourny. Tubs has been dead last with barely any conference wins at Texas Tech, but he's slowly eeking his way into the middle of the pack. Great to see!

He had a big rebuild job to do there, right? The only time Tech has ever been relevant in recent years was when Bobby Knight closed out his career there and almost got them into the Elite Eight in 2005.

Red Raiders have won two straight over Top-25 teams, including one on the road against Baylor. They are finally making some noise. Happy for Tubby. Hope they get in.

Tubby's done a helluva job rebuilding the train wreck Gillispie left behind there.

Looked like an impossible situation when Tubby took that job. TTech is one of the hardest jobs in the country to recruit and win at even under normal circumstances, and then Gillispie's lunacy reduced the program to the dumpster fire level (went 1-17 in conf the year before Tubby's arrival).

How does the Big 12 do it year after year?

A two game win streak in that mighty conference gets you on the tourney bubble. Yet they flame out in March every single season.

Lubbock, Texas. Whew. "If God had intended there to be rain he wouldn't have created West Texas." When you're dustier than Abilene, you're dry.

Texas Tech is a large university in a major conference, they play in a beautiful 15,000 seat arena. Tubby had a fine class 2 years ago, and he is a very good coach.
And the best thing about Lubbock Texas is it was the home of Buddy Hollie !
