Ohio State's roster is a joke this year. They have maybe 3-4 high quality D-1 players. It also just shows just how many weaknesses D'Angelo Russell hid last year.

Depends on which UK team shows up. The one we are seeing tonight wouldn't beat OSU by 25. They are a little ho hum tonight.
I don't know. Wright State is a decent team. I mean, OSU just lost at home to Texas-Arlington. They will absolutely be devastated by the UK guards and the Cats will shoot tons of free throws if they want.
This is 2-3 straight years that Matta has really struggled to recruit. Sure, he got Russell, but that's about it.

True but he has taken them to two final fours so the buckeyes won't do that much better than him. The problem is that now duke and uk are taking all these guys matta use to get.
He's being out-recruited by Izzo, Beilein and Crean as well.
I'm not saying OSU can do better, but at the same time, OSU is in a similar boat to Florida and Texas. Football schools with money bleeding from everywhere. If you're going to pay a basketball coach 3.2M+ per year like OSU is paying Thad, you should be getting more.
OSU/Thad is starting to look very similar to what Texas/Barnes was becoming. Good recruiter who should be doing better with all of the talent in his geographic area. However, without great talent, the level of coaching simply isn't good enough to make up for it.
Ohio State hasn't been past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament in 4 years now.

Lots of people on here had Thad on their short list of coaches to go after if Cal left. I'm sorry but I have him in the Rick Barnes category. I think he's an awful coach that can get talent…. Or used to be able to get talent. Now he's really getting exposed for what he really is…. A poor coach.
Whoever wanted Matta doesn't watch much basketball and depends on hype to form an opinion. Yep, he is Barnes 2.0.
