Why is it early? How is that possible? Coach Pope is who he is, he's a guy that builds players up and keeps everything in a positive light, I can't imagine that's even up for debate.
Live in the moment? Am I supposed to project when, or If Pope is going to become a hard nosed kind of guy?
What does that have to do with today? A lot has happened in Pope's life the last 30 years. He's not Rick Pitino, he's the direct opposite.

I said he's not a hard nosed coach, he uses positivity to build his teams up, that's fine, but our defense is ranked dead last in the SEC and it is because they are soft and undisciplined. Pope isn't soft, but our defense certainly is.

Right - this team is bipolar. You really have no idea what they will do from one game to the next. Hell, even from one ten-minute period to the next within the same game. I’ve never seen a team that swings so wildly between playing like a final four team and an NIT team.

Have you watched them play at all this year? Besides Lanier they don’t have much offense.

I think we get destroyed in road games against teams like that. But in Rupp we can beat anyone.
This is something that drives me crazy, sagging off shooters, completely losing them or my biggest problem, we go underneath every screen set by the defense. Basically giving them the 3. We really need to zone way more because we can't stop straight line drives. But then we'll sacrifice rebounding but we're already mediocre at best in rebounding. I don't know, we look pretty screwed to me. You can't manufacture toughness, you've gotta have it in you.
If Carr and a Kriisa are out and Butler playing injured our chances to beat anyone are very small.
You are correct, so far. Low-scoring games have been our nemesis.

Which really surprises me given that he played for RP and had so much success (both team and individual) under him. The UK teams Pope played on dominated defensively. I’m really hoping to see a return to that. Maybe it ain’t happening this year, but we have to make it a priority going forward.
