Pope post game

I thought we were going to see a team averaging 30 or 35 attempts a game and they are nowhere close to that.

I think about the best way for Pope to build depth is to get some Kentucky kids as his 13th-15th guys. Get some more guys like Perry and Noah who feel like putting on the jersey is a privilege. Guys who will gladly work every day to get better, sit the bench behind more talented guys, and be ready to play whenever they are needed. And they won’t cost you a mint in NIL money. We aren’t getting superstars as our third string guys.

That’s basically what Kentucky has been doing for years. They’re called walk-ons, and 13-15 rarely if ever play.

Pope had the depth. 12 guys, 9 guys who had averaged 15+ mpg last year (8 20+mpg). This was a historic rash of injuries, especially at one position.

In this era, you aren’t going to get good players to come in and be the 12th+ man
I can't wait to see what he does next year with better overall talent. Hoping he gets the right PF, C and some depth in athleticism.
I want to continue to win this year too, however, we could be outmatched vs higher seeded teams.
Give Pope credit, IMO he's doing pretty well with what he has.
