The two wr that have verbally committed in this class have pretty impressive numbers as far as height. Do you think they will have an impact on the field?

Lonnell Dewalt was an exciting prospect when came to Kentucky. Hope these receivers can make a bigger impact offensively.

Holtzclaw apparently can run a 10.6-10.8 second 100m dash. With those measurables, here is how I would draw up a redzone play.........

I don't see how we couldn't have an awesome group of receivers. They all have a decent amount of experience and there's nobody I wouldn't trust to catch a pass and make a play. We should have an impressive offense. Boom can set up the pass and the pass can set up Boom. We have ideal prototype linemen, hopefully they developed as much as they needed to in the off-season. There's more offensive talent out there than our 2007 team, I'm just not sure if the experience they have is enough to keep errors minimal like we did then.

Can they run and can they catch? Looks promising but won't really know until they're matched with SEC DBs.

It really doesn't matter if they can run and catch if they are not physical enough to get separation on these NFL corners and safeties they have to face every Saturday in the SEC. If you can't get open you will never catch a pass.

Funny you mention Dewalt, whose only claim to fame was blocking field goals. Size alone isn't enough for a receiver. Lots of big receivers ride the bench in the SEC. Size, athleticism, and good hands make great receivers. Gong into the 2015 season, wide receiver is the most improved position on our football team. Adding Snodgrass, Badet, Montgomery, Richardson, Greenwood, and Gosier to our returning receivers gives us enough receivers to run a fast paced spread offense for the 1st time since Stoops got here. I'm not sure yet what to make of Ross, whose size is probably more suited for a flex tight end than a wide receiver. I expect Holtzclaw to redshirt. Stoops will add at least 1 more receiver to this class.

We are going to have a lot of height for the next few years. I love it. Is Hughes going to play receiver? I would take the kid out of Male and be done with wr.

You are wrong about Dewalt, I think he blocked a couple of EPs also, LOL. IIRC he had a total of 7 or 8 his one year, hard to say what he would have done on offense if he had been able to stay, think I also read where he had close to 20 rebounds in a state playoff basketball game, so he apparently had some hands and athleticism also.

we are after a couple guys taller that are also slot guys. he's hoping to get an oregon offer but keeping us as a fallback option. the problem for him is if a 6'2" slot receiver that runs the same 40 time and has just as much wiggle... well, you know.

and i believe the plan is for hughes to play wr.

I would just like to keep the guys in state that can play at this level. It doesn't always work out but I like knowing that we are getting the best in this state every year.

im just saying that he isn't gonna commit til he knows oregon has shut the door on him. so if we get a kid to commit this summer and he keeps waiting... then he's gonna lose his ride. i do give the kid credit though. most kids would just commit and then wait for the other school to offer then flip if they get it. at least he's waiting to commit until he knows.
