Take Carolina off list of teams to worry about

Are you serious ? Virginia didn't beat them, they DESTROYED them. Plus they let UL score the last 4-6 points at will. If we had to go through UNC, UL, and Kansas to win the championship I'd feel really good about our chances.
Yeah and duke lost a game by 30 last yr...doesn't matter as long as you get a favorable draw and hot.

Ul not worth a crap...same thing every year..destroy cupcakes then lose to any decent team they play....then like tonight they win at home (like you are supposed to do) then once again they are proclaimed a threat.

This keeps getting posted and I don't know why. Duke did not lose by 30. They lost by 16 at home to Miami who didn't make the NCAA tourney. They were down by as much as 20 though.

Yes, if they can get one more consistent offensive threat (Willis, Murray, Skal, Poythress). Can't rely on Ulis.
So you're saying that there's 20 teams as is right now( unless we improve )better than us, LMFAO?! Exactly What I'd expect from the most obvious troll on this board!

As long as Cal can keep them hungry we will go as far as Skal's development.
We never know when Poythress and/or Lee will decide to give effort or not. It would take a miracle and I hope we don't wear Ulis out.
Murray did have a nice block on Selden that slammed Selden to the court.
Let's hope they all get an attitude. Refuse to lose. Cal did not complain about officiating in the KU game. He did mention Tyler grabbing a rebound with 2 hands and getting bowled over and they hit a 3. Maybe a message there

UNC has loads of talent and would be a tough matchup for us. However, as another poster said, I don't believe Roy Williams develops teams very well. I've watched them a few times this year and they are talented. However, as in previous years, they don't seem to have a lot of grit and fight. But they do have the right pieces, so they could always be a threat.

I understand your skepticism of my view. But this isn't the Hells at their best.

One thing to our advantage: they play uptempo, which is our A-game.
One reason they aren't playing their best is the kamikaze defense UL is throwing at them and I have never said this before but UL is hacking them to death, UNC is a finesse team. As has been mentioned on this forum before part of Pitons strategy is to attack all over the floor and the zebras won't call them all, well they may get away with that, but we got called for just attempting to defend....we didn't even get close enough at Kansas to know what kind of gum they were chewing.

You nailed that one. UNC plays "your turn my turn" offense.

We match up with some teams better than others.

Match-ups will have a lot to do with us making a run in the tournament IMO...

This could be a season where we see a couple of teams come out of nowhere and make the final 4.

UofL...

Could they make the final 4?

Of course they COULD.

I personally see them not making it out of the first weekend before I see them making the final 4.

One road game on Feb 1st shouldn't determine if you should be worried about said team or not. You should worry about any team in the top 10.

We matchup horribly? I don't see that at all.

The UNC bigs are soft as marshmallows.

No way they keep our guards out of the lane.

Ulis would eat Paige or whoever guards him alive.

I believe Murray would light them up.

I agree completely. The NCAA tourney is about guard play and UNC guards are no match. UNC has the better bigs, but as UL showed - they play soft and our bigs could handle them.

Matchups and the way the games will be called will determine a lot of games in the tournment. We are always a better matchup with UNC than Virginia. UV is a physical team and that hurts us, as UNC pretty much let it be a flowing up and down game. 54 fouls were called in the Virginia Tech game, last night 41 fouls were called. 40 fouls were called in the UK and UofL game. 53 fouls called in the UK Kansas game. UofL vs Virgina 32 fouls were called. To me it's crazy that it's such a difference in the way games are being called, and it's really effecting the outcome of these games.
