I made a post yesterday saying I had heard there may be some hesitancy by Mitch Barnhart to relieve John Calipari of his head coaching duties. I immediately received a couple of texts from two individuals who have connections, and told me they are hearing similar things. Remember that this is opinion on my part. Nobody knows anything for sure yet. We are working sources, and trying to connect the dots. I said yesterday that there is contrasting information, and it seems like there are a couple of sides at work here. There is a group who is saying the money is there to do whatever needs to be done. That seems to be coming from boosters. There is another narrative that the money is not there. That is coming more from those with ties closer to the basketball program. I am leaning toward Calipari returning, although it makes sense that staff moves may have to be made. Once again, hopefully we will have more clarity in the early part of the week. My goal is to get you information as I hear it.
