I have, probably too often (though most times justified), criticized Stoops for what I have seen as “Stoops Ball”.

We all know what it is, no need to define it.

Kiffin brought it up in his postgame comments multiple times.

The 4th down “go route” shocked me, certainly shocked Kiffin, and probably many of you.

Kiffin noted that “that’s probably the first time that dude (Stoops) has done that in his life.” Funny but likely true. And then he started commenting on studying behavior, tendencies, and insinuating that the action was shocking based upon their review.

All obviously true.

Such giant kudos to Stoops for jumping out of character and being willing to take that risk.

I think it definitely led to the most monumental victory of his tenure here (not that it was Ole Miss, but that it was #6 - away).

I think, and hope, that it leads to a new level of possibilities for the Cats.

I thought Stoops had reached his ceiling. If he integrates a bit more risk into the formula, I think he has the ability to shatter that “ceiling” and take us all on another ride.

Big congrats to him and the team.
