Are we discounting this kid? He lit it up all four years in High School. is Pennsylvania's all time leading passer with 13,719 yards and 781 completions. Third most TD passes NATIONALLY (204, also a PA record) His dad was a Strength and Conditioning coach for the Baltimore Ravens. I know he's a tad bit on the short side, but the kid seems pretty ripped and strong. I don't know how he is as a scrambler or runner, but seems to me he has all the intangibles to be a very good QB and I hope he comes in and blows up in the spring.

If he was 6' 4' he would have probably have been a five star recruit. Out of all the high-school QBs Stoops has brought in, I think he will turn out to be the best.

The kid is an awesome get for us. I hope he sticks.
I just remember when Levis came in our QB room was rather weak and even though they said there would be a competition initially, it was obvious from day 1 that Levis was head and shoulders better that anybody else in that room, and that "Competition" was short lived. Levis was a 5.6 three star and the 30th ranked QB coming out of HS. I just hope Stone Saunders is able to come in and make that kind of impression. If that costs us Boley, then so be it.

You can look up my posts from last year and he was the guy I wanted to stick with us the most. Think he can be really good.

He is a freshman. Under Stoops seniority system, he will not see the field, other than maybe in four games to preserve his redshirt (like that matters anymore), and will be lucky to even see the field by his junior year under this regime, IF he is even still on the roster by then.
CMS is allergic to freshmen playing early (unless he is a defensive back) and definitely can't develop a QB.

Didn't he literally just unseat a highly paid transfer qb in favor of a freshman?

We have heard about and anticipated him being here for 2 years, I hope he can earn a shot from day 1. The last 2 portal guys haven't worked out very well. Maybe it is time to go this route.. Put him and Boley out there and roll with whoever comes out on top.

Will Saunders be here in the spring?

No. The highly paid transfer quit after that last brutal hit. Stoops had no choice but to play another QB.
Did he play that freshman more than 4 games???
I'll hang up and listen.

Why should he play more than 4 games? Burn his rs for what?

Brock was benched vs texas. Then cutter named starter next week. Plain and simple.

Brock was INJURED in the Texas game. Probably a concussion, and decided to end his career right then and there.

Cutter was named starter ( over the #2 QB on the depth chart), in an effort to calm the fanbase down and take the heat off MB and CMS.

Do you think Cutter just magically got good enough to start the LAST GAME of the season against your state rival???

Lol. That is the definition of insan......oh wait. Your name says it all. My bad.

He finished out the half. Stoops brought in a tf who performed well and was named the starter.

Stoops deserves tons of criticism but this is an unavoidable fact.

On paper he sounds great but Stoops has been here over a decade and has yet to develop a QB at UK so...I'll believe it when I see it. Even Levis got worse his 2nd year. Hopefully we will have a decent line by the time he plays or he will be beaten to a pulp like Brock was.

One with a blown out arm.

He had decent zip on the balls he threw vs ut. He just didn't have his head in the game.

At this point people will just make up things as cause to bash stoops. I don't understand why, because there is plenty of legitimate complaints we can discuss.

You mean the underthrown, batted td and the very next one that was picked.
I saw those.

He got the concussion against Tenn. They didn’t know if he would play against Murray. Cutter out performed Brock against Murray, then again against Texas. I have never seen anything that Brock got hurt against Texas. Maybe he did. Everything I have read from insiders was plain and simple that Brock had been injury plagued all year. The season was over and they started Cutter to see what they had going forwarded. They knew they wouldn’t winning whoever they started

Brock had a shoulder injury in the Texas game. Pretty sure he was in the tent at least once in the first half.
Regardless, you are correct about everyone knew we weren't winning any of those games whomever started as QB.

That's why I say it was a scramble call by MB and CMS to play Boley and try to cool the fanbase off.

Benny Snell, Boom Williams, Jordan Jones, Mike Edwards, Christ Westry, and a host of other players prove this to be wrong. Deon Walker, Jager Burton, Darrian Kinnard, Drake Jackson, Ox, and we can keep going.

We are talking about CMS playing freshman QB's. Specifically Stone Saunders chance of helping the team next year as a true freshman.

Which of those players you rattled off played QB????

Pay attention to context of the thread.

He said Stoops has a seniority system. That isn't true. Pay attention to the context of your post. Even at QB, who has he not played that he should have due to "seniority"?

AnyHS QB recruit will never see the field under Stoops. He continues to grab a castoff QB out of the portal.

I think the shoulder injury bothered him all year. It was very evident against Murray on two consecutive drives when he tried to go deep and vastly underthrew, the first was nearly intercepted but flipped out of the defenders hands directly into Gilmore’s hands for a TD. The second one, a drive later, almost identical, was not so fortunate and got intercepted. We stopped trying to go do deep with Brock after that.

Might want to check with those class of 23 freshman that just hit the portal.

Highly rated recruits playing behind 5th and 6th year seniors and transfers who forged a 4-8 record with 1 SEC win.

Is CMS paying you to cover for him???
You sure do have his back......

I’m for starting over with a new coach. With that said, what guy that left was highly talented and should have been playing?

Lol. EVERY school has transfers from all classes now. It's kinda the landscape now and no one is immune to it. Hell, even playoff teams already have guys in the portal or expected to do so. And them being behind guys that went 4-8 still doesn't make them better. Look at what happened to our defense when the backups had to play. It was drastically worse because those other guys weren't ready yet. Hell, everyone screamed Boley should have been playing sooner after a half at Texas and he follows that up with one of the worst performances in college football history according to PFF. This notion that coaches don't play their best due to some system or not wanting them to play is crazy.

Boley is under weight and needs more strength to play SEC ball. Maybe he improves his body and strength next year. Having a porous o-line did him no favors.

My guess is he will redshirt and will never play here. Stoops will retire and the new staff will bring in their own QB to fit their system.

He is a great dog. The only downfall is he sheds a lot but he's worth the mess.
Yep , they shed . I used to brush mine in the back yard and it looked like someone ran over a sheep with a lawnmower, lol . If it was spring the birds would gather the fur and put it in their nests .

Tyrese Fearbry
Ben Christman
Courtland Ford
Khamari Anderson
Noah Matthew's
Caleb Redd
Toby Keenam

That's just to name a few of the players that should have seen more playing time, IMO.

And I already know you wanted a list so you can go down it and dispute every one of them needing an opportunity to play ahead of those upper classmen who garnered all the snaps on a losing team, but at least 9 D1 coaches thought they were good enough to give them a scholarship for a reason. I guess they had a similar opinion as mine.
