Standing At The Game

Im in 206 and I noticed that that bottom half of the section sat most of the time and the upper half stood. Could this mean that the more money you have entitles you to sit?

I didn't necessarily feel like standing the whole time ( our section was a good 60% of time ) I could easily see the screens while seated so I never missed anything.

As for the OP's original statements and further explanations, I agree that only one person standing who is cheering no more or even less than the seated people is rude.

You did it in the very first post, for crying out loud.
I misread his post. I thought he said I ONLY got loud when we are on offense, but I see now he is idiotically saying that is not appropriate. Everyone stands and cheers on 3rd down on both sides of the ball.

Of course it's rude. Anyone with any semblance of consideration for others realizes that, but as others have pointed out, it's what the world has come to.

In what world?
You shouldn't be cheering presnap on any down when your team is on offense. It's counterproductive, and happens almost never, and should never happen at all.
And you should be making as much noise as possible when your team is on defense regardless of down, so as to hinder the other team communicating their play and audibles.

This is basic stuff.

Disagree. Everyone does it in the stadium. Practically all snaps are done by silent counts nowadays. This is not 1999.

The counts have nothing to do with it. It's the play calling and audibles at the line. Linemen calling out blocking assignments, quarterbacks getting backs and receivers into formations and plays, and identifying potential blitzers. Not which "hut" to go on.

Honestly...
How can people who go to football games be this bad at going to football games?

Push'em back, push'em back, push with all your might! Stand-up, sit-down, fight, fight, fight!!!! Geez!

If you can't stand for the majority of the 3.5-4 hrs maybe you should consider not going, accept that you will miss some of the game, try to move seats, or use it as motivation to get in better shape/condition so you can handle standing that long 7-8 times a year. The good Lord didn't design us to sit on ass all day every day.

I've got a great idea. Why don't you guys try something out for the Louisville game? Everyone sit down and be still like the sit crowd wants. Then you guys can compare how the atmosphere of the games are different or similar.

All I know is I will be there standing in my read and black in the UofL section.

Personally I like to stand the whole game but if the people behind me are sitting I'm not going to block their view.

But what blew my mind was during the very first timeout of the game. 12 seconds when Missouri challenged the play. A guy was just getting to his seat. He was standing talking to someone and a couple started SCREAMING at him "SIT DOWN YOU ARE BLOCKING OUR VIEW!!!"

It was during a timeout and both teams were on the sidelines. Apparently they just wanted to admire the turf. My Aunt that gave me the ticket says they are always like that.

I bet it was the older lady that sits in section 215 Row O at Rupp. Sounds exactly like her.

Some of you should go over to the Paddock and read the thread on which sport has the worst fans and see all of the NFL responses. That's you and yes, I know, you don't care.

I probably stand just a little too much. I used to also yell way too much but I started to feel embarrassed about that over the years and toned it down. I'm 31, by the way. In my early and mid-20s I was kind of an a-hole at games.

In general, I try to only stand pre-snap if it's a defensive third down or a crucial drive late in the game. But there are times when I get so nervous/excited I can't help it. I love the Cats and want them to win SO. DANG. BAD.
