St Joseph’s is final 4 caliber

I don't think DJ was the problem there.

IIRC, we had Mitchell, Adou, and Edwards out there with DJ and Rob. Ideally you'd have one of Reeves or Reed out there to space the floor instead of the Adou/Edwards combo. Edwards made a couple 3's, but he's not the shooter the other 2 are.

Not saying you, but a lot of people, act like it's either DJ or Reed. Why can't they both play well together?
I posted that during the game and I was talking specifically about the last play, where Reed was on the floor but the play was DJ going 1 on 5 and taking a tough shot in the lane. Feel like we could have designed something better there.

Rupp is so overrated, it’s crazy. Spare me the win percentage argument, because we should be winning 95% of our home games. You don’t see guys going off in Cameron, or the Phog, or at the O-dome, or at the Breslin.....
That's because the lower arena of Rupp is reserved for the elderly with lots of money and not for the passionate fans.

How dare they let those that pay the bills have quality seats. Maybe all senior citizens should be relegated to the Rafters or do we wave that rule as long as they are poor?
Just stating the facts. Look at the other arenas mentioned. How many of those have old people sitting down 90% of the game? None of them. They are packed with loud and rowdy fans who do not sit down the entire game. That's a difference maker. It's just the facts.

There has to be a solution where the high value tickets can be distributed to the blue hairs AND we create more engagement / student involvement in lower arena. Kentucky has always lacked creativity when it comes to that.

Also, if you don't use your tickets and leave them empty in the lower section, you should lose the tickets permanently. There is zero excuse for an arena with 20,000 people in attendance having open seats near floor. Those people are either trying to sell too high, are too lazy to sell or just don't care.

Most unrealistic suggestions ever. Those empty seats near the floor are held by those who donate shitloads of money. You think UK is gonna intentionally antagonize those folks like that?

And yet we win at a higher rate in our mortuary than they do in their perfect in every way cathedrals. So you think we kick them out and not allow them to buy seats? You do realize a number of big money donors are involved?

And they appreciate your support. The problem only exists because conservative ass people refuse to make any positive changes that benefit our brand.

On national TV, you see empty seats and old people who won't stand. Even on game-hinging freethrows you could see people sitting under the goal who didn't even stand last night. Inexcusable. If you want to go somehwere and knit, go to al library.

Furthermore, on national TV, seeing empty seats is inexcusable when it's merely due to laziness -- both from the ticketholders and everyone else involved. There is a litany of solutions and these people should be called out all day every day.

The solution is to put them in boxes. It's is kinda crappy that the nation's winningest program still can't get a rowdy atmosphere That Miami game better be packed. .

I’ll have to wait and see how they do in about a month or so. Right now I think they are playing over their head like a lot of teams do that come in here.
Sort of amazing that all of these mid major and below teams seem to play focused when in Rupp.

Listen many of the people you are calling out are the ones paying NIL. If NIL is not given you do not get the players. So make a decision about people who make noise or Nil or put your money up and shut up. On top of that you should be calling out the students, show up late or not at all and leave early.

Rupp has been as rowdy as anywhere ever gets many times when its called for. If you want non stop jumping up and down and choreographed cheers and all that please go to Puke and don't bring that here. Where do you intend to put boxes?

The only time it got loud last night during FT's was for a freaking chicken sandwich. We don't need to get choreographed cheers per se, but we've got to get a better atmosphere going at Rupp.

These threads always remind me first of the Evansville loss a years ago. Right after, there were posters here proclaiming how Evansville looked really good and “don’t be surprised if they end up being a Sweet 16 type team” and “ we should look at McCarty as a potential next UK coach!”, etc.

Then Evansville proceeded to lose like every single remaining game and finish damn near dead last in all of D1 in the NET rankings. LOL.
And that team went on to win the SEC by 3 games.

Sheppard was having trouble getting open when he was off the ball it seemed. Same with Reeves. They need to get that high screen offensive set going that Cal used for Murray and Herro. Also I thought Reed passed up a few that he could've taken. Seemed odd.
It seemed to me that while he passed some open shots, he was still closely guarded as if he had been scouted well after the Stonehill game. He looked to me to be hunting assists rather than getting his own.

It was often extremely loud during overtime

Those 3 Guards will NEVER shoot the basketball that good again this season!!!

Never fails, opponents that SUCK normally GO OFF in Rupp.

Seen it for MANY years.
At what point will fans finally figure out it's not Rupp.

It is Cal.

Zero defense.

That was the purpose of the thread

Bingo. When those 3 Division 1 caliber guards play a team that plays such terrible high ball screen D that forces collapsing in by off ball defenders those 3 guards have the ability to knock down 3s.

To play Devil's Advocate, McCarty decided to get his wick wet and proceeded to get fired. That sent that team into disarray, so who knows. It was still a bad loss. But any hope of that team making a run ended when McCarty stopped thinking with his brain.

If St. Joe's plays like they did in Rupp, they could be in every game left on their schedule. They probably won't play like that again this season, though.

It's easier to have a higher "win rate" when you continuously play Montana State Presbyterian Technical College.
That is beyond stupid to insinuate the schedule has anything to do with it. The rest of them play their share of cupcakes as well.

So why are their win percentages at the Phog, Cameron, and O worst than ours at Rupp if this is true? We should win 95% but that shouldn't be expected at their "vaunted" arenas?

Found the resident blue hair that tells everyone to sit down. Or did he just inherit the tickets from his rich relatives?
