So what would it be then?If he stays In the draft how is that a miss, there’s nothing he can do about that.

I thought they said he doesn’t have to make an announcement but must submit his paperwork.Yep, he's staying in the draft if no announcement.
Contact doesn’t equal a miss. Kentucky had to fill a whole roster, they had to cast a wide net, so they contacted a lot of people. Do we consider all of those misses. Davis & osobor wanted a lot of money, and Kentucky was never gonna get into that. Mahaney is maybe miss but they got brea who is similar if not better player.Mahaney was offered. Davis was contacted. Osobor visited Kentucky.
You don't count those guys? Why?
We would pay way more than a two way deal so at least in this case it wouldn't just be the money.Yeah. We’re looking to be just meh now.
Is what it is. All these dudes care about is money. Which is partially fine but damn.
Him just staying in the draft, if he stays In the draft there is nothing college coaches can do about that.So what would it be then?
Davis
Osobor
Mahaney
Lanier
Robinson
Oh please it only seems that way because only Kentucky fans are this invested.Regardless of the coach, it appears UK will continue to hang on last minute decisions from fringe NBA guys who should return to college but instead, make terrible decisions.
I wish the above statement was sarcasm.
And he has got a lot. You are unrealDude just stop. He has missed on a lot of guys.
He's the fifth highest paid coach. No excuses.I just don’t think we can look at it like that right now. Lanier was always going to Tennessee. Home state and they were tampering for over a year. Osobor got insane money from Washington , doesn’t mean anything. Davis was hoodwinked by Calipari to be the next lottery bench player, not suprised. Moheney isn’t even that great to be honest, and Robinson wants to go pro. Really nothing you can do there is he doesn’t return.
I’m far from an excuse maker and if Pope isn’t the guy we’ll find out soon enough, but he’s been on the job a few months and hasn’t had time to catch his wind this recruiting cycle. This season was always going to be tough and the roster came out pretty good all things considering. I wish we had landed a few more too but I think there’s context here that we have to recognize.
Robinson going pro is really stupid but all it was going to take was a team throwing him a guarantee not just of a pick, but FA too, and he looks like he doesn’t want to move again and just go on and take his chances. Nothing Pope can do about a situation like that.
Let pope get his feet on the ground before we begin to eat him.
We whiffed on Liam McNeeley, too.I just don’t think we can look at it like that right now. Lanier was always going to Tennessee. Home state and they were tampering for over a year. How is his salary a justification for players asking for ridiculous NIL prices? He's the fifth highest paid coach. No excuses.
This is pure copium
No they did not. He never even visited here, reaching out does not equate to a miss. If that’s the case the 60-70 guys they contacted In the portal are all misses then.We whiffed on Liam McNeeley, too.
Well Mitch was bragging how much NIL poured in when he was hired. Was it all a lie?How is his salary a justification for players asking for ridiculous NIL prices?
That's hilarious! Smith and Pilgrim basically sounded just like that 10 minutes ago. All they needed was the beer can and the mustache.
They want money to carry over, or that’s what is being said. The reality is Kentucky is never getting into bidding wars, they just aren’t.Well Mitch was bragging how much NIL poured in when he was hired. Was it all a lie?
Well prepare for a lot of losing. They want money to carry over, or that’s what is being said. The reality is Kentucky is never getting into bidding wars, they just aren’t.
Osobor two day visit and is offered = not a miss.No they did not. He never even visited here, reaching out does not equate to a miss. If that’s the case the 60-70 guys they contacted In the portal are all misses then.
I’m actually quite impressed with what Pope has done in a short amount of time. He had to play catch up starting from scratch. Even with the portal, that’s tough. He got guys who fit his system and didn’t overpay for guys (Osobor in particular). I like the squad as is. I think some of them are underrated. We had unlimited playing time to offer, tons of NIL, and the Kentucky brand, with an elite assistant coaching staff.
If we miss on Robinson, we failed to land one top 20 portal transfer.
That's disappointing. I don't have a very high expectation for next year, with or without Robinson, but you have to admit that there's not much buzz with this collection of players. Hopefully they come together like that 2004 team did.
I see next season as a stop gap season. It is what it is.
JLoad's spectrum-level alter-ego has spoken.Everyone being negative right now are the normal RR trolls. Somehow our fanbase took the 6th man on BYU and are making him out as a make or break player and all of a sudden Pope hire is a mistake and we are going to the NIT. 😆
Yes there is. It’s 2024. College coaches present them with an NIL proposal and they choose to take the deal or roll the dice. If this kid stays in the draft he is choosing G league over UK. If he chooses to stay in the draft after these coaches present him deals what else are they suppose to do? Force him to come here.Yes there is. It’s 2024. Gotta be objective for a sec. This team is closer to the NIT than a tournament bid. I hate to see everyone setting themselves up for disappointment. My hope is that this squad will mirror South Carolina last year. Similar situation going in. Similar roster make upEveryone being negative right now are the normal RR trolls. You want to pay osobor 2 million dollars? Mahaney and brea are very similar players and Kentucky got one so it’s not a miss if they got somebody. The ones categorizing guys as misses aren’t thinking about the broader picture.Osobor two day visit and is offered = not a miss.

Yeah like we weren't doing that under the guy who just left. You as so obviousWell prepare for a lot of losing.
Cal sucked and so he is gone. Are you okay if our new coach also loses?Yeah like we weren't doing that under the guy who just left. You as so obvious
They’ll be silent or find some crap to complain about when somebody commits.3-4 different posters are definitely in a circle doing weird things….
Would be nice if for once we gave "insane money" to land a player of that caliber since, you know, that's what it takes now.I just don’t think we can look at it like that right now.
