Sounds like Butler is gonna be okay

Very good news if this happens. He is what makes this team go. You can see how he rubs off on the other guys and elevates their level of play. They all stepped up after he was hurt tonight which was fantastic but I don't see us going far without him. Hope he's ready to go at Texas.

Well that quote isn't exactly conclusive. We need him to come back somewhat closer to 100% by the end of the year. If that means more rest and rehab, I'm fine with it.

I don't expect Butler to be 100% for the rest of the season, we just need him on the court, maybe stop diving on the floor given his condition. Almost like a QB who slides instead of getting hit.

Pope really did not know his status when he talked with Leech. He said he hoped that they would get both Krisa and Butler back soon and was praying that would happen. I'm sure they know more today.

Our team is top 10 good with him.
He is our defense. He sets the tone. He showed that with his steal and layup right out of the chute last night. When he's available, our defensive intensity is night and day better. We showed last night and in some of our other big wins, that we can play defense when we have the desire to.

That being said, I guess we just match up good against UT. Yeah. they are "physical" somewhat, but I didn't see near the level of physicality out of them as I have other teams we faced. aTm is brutal to face. They beat the living daylights out of you. Mississippi St. as well.

Loved how he started out the game with a steal against Zeigler and a layup- great way to set the tone

Oweh always comes up with the biggest Rebounds. We we got down 3 he was to one who grabbed a miss in the lane to get us a bucket. If he could just finish more he would get 20 a game.
These last two years have me believing the layup is the hardest shot in basketball.

Oweh is my favorite this year, but man, learn to pass the ball back out of that driving ability....occasionally, please.

Butler is definitely the Man for us. He leads us on defense. However, let's give Kerr some credit. Did anyone ever mention this team's "lack of effort" before his injury? Don't think so.

TBH, I'm completely fine with rolling into Austin with Butler and JR in street clothes, and Carr keeping his warm ups on as long as possible. We gotta get healthy.

That would be nice if we had that luxury, but we are battling for by placement in the SEC Tourney right now and really don't want to be relegated to playing five games in five days if we can avoid it. If the tournament happened today, we'd get a single bye and have to play the winner of SC/Miss. St. then would have to face either Bama or Auburn in game 2.

Point being, we can't afford any more losses considering we still have to face Bama, Auburn and Missouri

Placement in the SEC tournament doesn’t mean jack this year if you aren’t healthy enough to compete

Not so sure I agree with that. I hear that, but jury is out.

It's a balancing act between getting the best seed possible in both tourney's while getting our guys as healthy as possible. Pope is probably going to have to compromise a little on both ends.

This will be Pope’s least talented team and they are still a lot of fun. Just wish a few posters would transfer out.
It maybe the least athletic but this team is full of Basketball 🏀 Players. I've never seen a Ky team pass the way they do. The no look passes are amazing. They just have great chemistry. If they all get healthy look out.

I love this team. Just making the analogy to show that the arrow is firmy pointing UP for the idiots either wanting him already fired or are scoffing because we aren't 21-3, lol.
