My brother makes somewhere around 130K in Sacramento as a DPT. She won't be hurting for money. Hell, she'll probably make more than most WNBA players.

That's what I've been kinda hearing too. Kinda losing just a smidge of respect for Brooks on that. If a player wants to stay for their SENIOR year, even if its as a walk on, you let them stay.
The business of college basketball nowadays with the transfer portal. Sucks for the player, but it’s the time we live in. She got her offer early in her HS career and then had major knee injuries before she even set foot on campus. Looks like she’s smart as hell and has a good career ahead of her.

I suppose. But Brooks (like Cal) never plays 15 people. Is he really gonna find players 13-15 as dedicated as Rowe? Probably not.
Yeah, it sucks for her and you would think she could stick around to be the last player on the bench. It’s also his job to win here and if he feels that her spot on the team can be better used on a portal player, then he should do that. College athletics can be a cruel world these days.

And she's staying at UK to finish her degree. That's just gonna be painful for her to watch. This feels like a self inflicted pressure wound for Brooks.
Definitely not a good look for an in state kid that bleeds blue. Since she's willing to quit basketball rather than transfer, I'm sure she'd have been OK sitting the bench next year as well.

This 100% is why anyone who talks ill of players transferring should stop with all the bashing. Loyalty is a 2 way street and as long as schools aren’t committing to 4 year scholarships then players should always pursue what’s best for them.
Assuming she was not a problem, this is 100% an asshole move by Brooks. If she was a problem then fine.
Telling me someone that dedicated to the program can't have a spot on the team their final year? I understand her mind, I was not going anywhere but UK out of high school because of my love for the Wildcats. Not good at all with her love for the program. She did not deserve that.

Shitty last few weeks for Brooks. Loses two games he should have won, then asks a state kid to transfer before her senior year; after she’s given her blood, sweat, and tears to the program. Pushes her out? If he doesn’t fill 15 schollies with good players, he needs to get hell from someone. Lost a little respect for the guy, for both the coaching the last two and this blunder of a decision. Doesn’t make sense.
Why did they not guard the girl for K state that kept hitting threes at the end of the last game. Kept leaving her wide open. Lost them the game
Don't like the look seeing that she had one year left. Is Brooks's daughter on scholarship? Gabby averaged 4 minutes a game.

This is a really stupid move, by Brooks, for future recruiting.
If it was my senior year, I'd sit on broken glass to stay. She's not transferring. If she wanted to go anywhere else, she could and would.
That really sucks for her just like most guys in the state of KY we all grow up wanting to wear the blue and white. Some get the opportunity and some don’t. If you have extra scholarships then she honestly could’ve taken one. Best wishes to Cassidy and her promising future!
Yeah, doesn't sit well with me either. Schools often find another way to keep players like Cassidy by finding a scholarship in something else. Since she already is staying at UK in the DPT program, already have that part figured out. I read her post and definitely seems caught off guard by it. Hopefully injuries don't become a concern for next season, something unpredictable.
I've never met this Brooks guy, and based on this I sure as shit never want to see his face. What a low class move.
I mean, from all his interviews, all his interactions with fans and the media, this is kind of a surprise. He better freaking win like crazy.
We don’t know the whole story yet. I agree it doesn’t sound like a Kenny Brooks or a Mitch to force a player out.
