So...who calls the plays and preps the team for the bowl game?

With Scan gone (and I'm still a little torn about that one, although the offense definitely underperformed everyone's expectations), who will prep the O and call the plays for the bowl game? And, if Levis isn't playing, is it Sheron or Wade or both? Without WL, do we turn this game into a de facto audition for QB1 entering spring practice and not really worry about winning or losing? Do we see a bunch of youngsters on the OL play just to see how they do when the bullets are flying for real?

IMO, we're not going to finish in the top 25 and we've already sewn up a winning season so winning or losing the bowl game really shouldn't matter a whole lot. I think you see what you have on the roster coming back and not worry too much about winning the game. Give the youngsters significant PT and see how they do. Let Wade/Sheron run the type of offense that will be expected of them next year and see if they can make the reads, make the throws, find the right receiver, etc. No sense in just running up the middle for 60 minutes.

Just like every other game since he's been here. Stoops will call the plays. Why would anything change?

Don’t care who’s calling the play’s honestly. I want a win. Just as always. Ugly win, pretty win. A win just.
Honestly, I don't care much about winning the game. What I really care about is getting a headstart on solidifying a QB and OL for next year. Make sure Wade and Sheron (assuming Levis doesn't play) have as many reps with the 1s and 2s as possible during bowl prep. Give them a manageable but substantial playbook for the bowl game, one that might be only slightly smaller than a Saturday in the fall and then let them run the plays. We've got to know what we have in those two, imo, before we go all in on a QB transfer. One or both may step up in a big way and we can be confident that we'll be OK even if one of the most-sought after QBs doesn't choose us.

Same for the OL. Let Hall, Bingham, Rodriguez, Wohlabaugh, Goodwin, Young, et al sub in liberally and let's see what we have for next year. I think it's a mistake to wait until spring practice to figure out - whoops, we need a LT or a RG. Let them make mistakes, get beat, play at real game speed against a pretty good opponent so we have a really good idea of who's a player and who's not and, more importantly, how desperate we are for a transfer.

I say the WR coach. Let’s say it’s the Liberty Bowl and Will and Chris don’t play.

Yea, you want to win but you need to take a real look at Sheron and Wade. Sling the damn thing around.

I get it. But I want to win. That’s first priority to me.

Only took eight replies until we got to this shit again. If Stoops were such a micromanager of the O he would have never hired Coen or let him call the plays he did. If Coen had ignored him and called them anyway, Stoops would have fired him.

Stoops hired Coen, if all he wanted to do is run, that makes no sense does it?

It is like looking at a field of green and calling it blue.. Ignore any of a multitude of events and you can make facts fit your agenda. Ignore the yellow and that green field is blue...except it isnt.
