How does this help exposure & recruiting for the five schools not mentioned when only some powers' games & supposed top rivalries are released? Answer: It doesn't.

But shows how little SEC influence Barnhart/UK has. Confirms we're nothing but chicken feed. I'd think every school would have at least one known in the initial release. But the powers decided otherwise.

  • Texas A&M at Florida – Sept. 14
  • Tennessee at Oklahoma – Sept. 21
  • Georgia at Alabama – Sept. 28
  • Florida at Tennessee – Oct. 12
  • Alabama at Tennessee – Oct. 19
  • Georgia at Texas – Oct. 19
  • LSU at Texas A&M – Oct. 26
  • Alabama at LSU – Nov. 9
  • Texas at Arkansas – Nov. 16
  • Alabama at Oklahoma – Nov. 23
  • Auburn at Alabama – Nov. 30
  • Mississippi State at Ole Miss – Nov. 30
  • Texas at Texas A&M – Nov. 30

how have people been claiming to know our schedule on this board for two weeks if the schedule hasn't been released yet?

Because, people have been Googling, saw that the last three games listed were road games against Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas, and failed to notice that the dates for these three games are "TBA" and got the rumor going, which is now common belief, that we finish out next season against three brutal teams on the road. They missed that one game that actually DOES have a date is the last Saturday of the season, against Louisville.

I think you're wrong on Barnhart. He is one of the most powerful AD in the SEC. He and Capiluto are annually listed as some of the most powerful people in the SEC by the Birmingham news when they do their annual power rankings. It is said that Barnhart and Eli are the most powerful duo holding the 8 game status quo faction together against the powerful contingent on the other side that wants to see 9 games. Obviously, we don't have the football brand that schools like Texas and Alabama and Florida have, but we couldn't ask for more power than what we have at the conference level and have probably never had more than we have now.

On the bright side the earliest we could possibly go to Texas is sept 28. Still hot. But not the brutal heat of early September Texas.

Interesting that the Egg Bowl is not on Thanksgiving. It also appears that UT's schedule sets up for them to get a bye week before playing us 11/2, IMO.

If those 2 had ANY pull with the SEC, they would have made sure Florida played UK in November at LEAST once since Mitch has been AD. Thank goodness Coach Stoops has overcome that streak in spite of that.

Ain't no way SEC and ESPN fail to put the Egg Bowl and the return of Texas-Texas a&m on Thanksgiving day. Those dates are not valid at all.

Guys this whole MB, Capiluto, UK pull or lack thereof when it comes to scheduling is all hot air and myth.

TV, media, sponsors, ratings largely dictate who plays when.

Hell, we're beating Florida first half of the season as it is. Let's not stop that mojo.

Cold didn't affect Alabama, they ran over us.

We gain nothing with cold weather, especially against good teams. There is no science nor history behind that.

Also, the myth of weather in KY being really cold in November doesn't really hold water either. Generally speaking, it's 50ish.

If anything, you want to get Bama early while they're figuring out a QB situation and/or before they get rolling. Texas beat them, they only scored 17 on USF, and 24 on Ole Miss. Aggie, Ark, and UT were all tight games too.

They ran away from LSU and us...after warming up and getting full steam ahead.

Same goes for UGA. SC and Auburn played them close...early...by the time they get to us in October its full steam ahead.

I think there is a better argument to catch big juggernaut teams before they get their offenses rolling. First 6-7 weeks.

FYI...when they release the full SEC schedule next month along with dates, game times will also be predetermined.

So no more 12 day window, and will make it alot easier for folks out of town to plan.

There will be a small"flex' option on the game, in that ESPN / ABC will have the ability to move a game up or down by one "window"

meaning a noon game can kick at 4 and vice versa
A seven o clock game can also be flipped with a 4

BUT a noon game cannot be flexed into a night slot....or the other way around.

First I’ve heard of this. Awesome news.

Had so much planned for Florida game this year to have it mostly scrapped due to the nooner.

You're assuming that UK has been begging the SEC to make Florida come to CWS in November but has been denied. I haven't heard a single report anywhere that this is the case.

I do hear UK fans saying this a lot, but less so in recent years now that we beat the gators as early as week 2.

Where did you get this information that there will no longer be 12 day windows and that times for next fall will be predetermined in Dec. 2023?

Adam Luckett (KSR) saying that it's all but guaranteed that UK plays South Carolina at home in Week 3 (process of elimination as these are the only two teams with an open date that week).

Maybe we just have powderpuff games, once we start winning we will be on everyone’s lips, then we hit the normal slide

I still think the smaller schools made a horrible mistake voting in favor of expansion. Money is great and all but is it worth near destruction of your football program?

UK, Vandy, USC, Arkansas, Missouri, Miss State

That’s plenty enough votes to kill expansion and it should’ve happened. Especially considering this is the group that killed the 9 game schedule. Why bring in Texas and Oklahoma only to later complain about a difficult SEC schedule. Doesn’t make sense.

The other SEC ADs unanimously selected Barnhart to be Chair of the SEC Athletic Directors. He was also the AD selected to oversee the investments across all of the SEC schools that were needed to get the SEC Network up and running (e.g., construction of control rooms, laying of fiber optic cable). Barnhart is held in very high regard by Sankey, as well as by his colleagues at the other schools.

And Capiluoto is almost single handedly responsible for giving the other SEC schools the confidence that they could play football during the first fall with COVID. Without him, we probably follow the Big Ten’s lead, who had initially decided to cancel the season before the SEC convinced people to proceed.

Both are highly influential within both the SEC and more broadly across college sports.

Money trumps everything.

Not expanding means getting left behind to the Big 18.

Oh, I was saying that mostly tongue in cheek. CM Newton was the AD that allowed the Gators to change the date from Nov to Sept and that was when the streak basically started.’

I just wondered why from 1987, when the losing streak started until now, WHY we couldn’t get the Gators back to Lexington in Nov. just ONCE more in those 35+ years???😁😁😁
