Poor ESPN workers.. they were just about to leave for the day. President called them into the war room to determine how theyre going to address this positive Kentucky news. I suspect they've already removed UK from a title graphic come November
As with a lot of things I would love to know why everyone hates UK?? We were on the cusp of being the it program. We even were pushing Duke as the premier program when Pitino left. I can’t put my finger on when exactly it happened but ESPN started shading us. Officials started giving us horrible officiating. Reporters started pointing out only the bad and the NCAA and SEC wanted us just to go away.
Makes me sad and mad all at the same time. Mostly because I do not know the reason why. I have guesses. Sure.
It all we due to coaches allowing it to happen.
Tubby was a pacifist in the face of criticism and mistreatment. Billy Clyde was a do-nothing drunk. Cal swung to the other end and made everything personal.
Pope will be the guy that the ref fraternity, media, and fans at large learn to love in time. The bias won't be there for long. The media is already starting to warm up to Pope the same way they did with Bill Self at Kansas.
That's a good thing.
