I don't like getting older. Arthritis sucks. I miss my youthful energy. But after nearly forty years of fandom, I'm glad I'm an older fan. I've made every mistake a fan can make along the way. Glad I've waited til now to post.
Here's my point. I'll remember this season as hugely successful. Crazy good start, learning team defense, SEC champs. Sending UCLA packing, scaring the crap out our foes all year. It's how you play the game that counts. This team fought. This team represented. I can't equate failure with a season like that. Not anymore.

I hear you Goose; it really sucks getting older.
Doctors telling you to stop eating this and that; your wife starts buying whole wheat crap, whole wheat cereals and what not; your watching the Cats on TV and you hear, "he better stop getting so worked up, he will have a stroke"; most of your mail is from AARP.
Thank God for DVR's (those 9 o'clock games tuff on a old fart), Viagra, hot tubs, Cal, Cubs getting a WS win, and a great journey.

My parents preached to me to STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES, that time goes by too fast. And I have lived that way,but it still has gone by too fast!!
