Sihiem King

I tend to agree with you, I thought he looked and ran more like a fullback, much like Brandon Douglas at UGA. A good change of pace type of guy and clock killer but not a difference maker in the SEC. Maybe losing the weight gave him enough quickness to prove me wrong, but wouldn't surprise me to see him at number 4 on the depth chart, I think Boom and Newton are better backs and King has the potential to be better.

I think as long as he has a good complimentary back, then he'll be fine. We seem to run more by committee these days anyway. I think we'll see Boom as the headliner this coming yr.....with Kemp and Horton getting a healthy dose of carries. King may see time as a slot receiver and return specialist.

You would be hard pressed to find a team with better balance than that. Good lord, -.1 away from splitting it 50-50.

I could see us going for 78-82 or so plays per game. Dawson installed a hurry up style of offense on day 1. He made that clear that he wanted to play that way, and Stoops did as well.

Anyway, as it pertains to Boom getting more touches, today Stoops was asked if Boom could be a 3 down back, and Stoops said that he could because he's become a more physical player, and he's putting on more muscle as well. Best news we could have gotten.

If we are running 80 plays per game, and have a 50/50 split, I would like to see Boom get half of the carries. 20 for Boom, 11 for Jojo, 5 for Horton, and 4 for King (assuming he does not RS).

I think you will see Boom average more around 15 carries a game. 20 carries along with using him in the return and pass game would be too risky. We don't have the depth.

It seems that Stoops disagrees. He said Boom could be a 3 down back.

know we want to see the ball in our playmakers hands as much as possible. If he turns into a 3 down back, we may not be seeing him in the return game as much. Could be a situation where we see King, Williams, Timmons, and Johnson in the return game more.

Think you're gonna be proven wrong on this one. Horton can absolutely be a difference maker in the SEC.

That could be true and it sure isn't the first time and won't be the last time, but I just didn't see a back on the level of difference making backs in the SEC. He just doesn't or hasn't shown the quickness to do that and why I likened him to a fullback.
