Was a hell of a run last year though. Pretty wild.
They had a great run to the FF last year, but they were one missed FT away in the ACCT from missing the whole thing
Wild that they should have missed the tourney but somehow won the ACC and then the ultimate heater.
Yep, missed FT and a wild 3 pointer made. Burns was so key for that team.
I didn’t even know teams could be eliminated from making their conference tourneys

They did end Duke's season last year. In my mind, they are National Champions! 
Yeah it’s a terrible format. Every team should have a chance to play in their conference tournament regardless of record, jmo
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Remember UConn in 14 had to win like 10 games in a row to advance from their opening conference round game to the Natty.
That NC State team struggled with Kenny Payne’s Louisville in the opener … and ended up in the FF.

News to me as well. I always thought that was one of the reasons why we still have those tournaments to begin with, so that it gives every team one more chance to show their worth to the committee like Georgia in 2008.
Am i crazy or wasn't that how they won the national championship in or around 1983?
