The damn results Kentucky has been getting the last few years is what's not fair.
He's a coach who was ousted from his jobs for underperformance. Not surprising he's defending a HOF coach who he's known for 30+ years. Wouldn't read to much into anything the talking heads spew, you're better off not listening to any of them.
The criticism is fair. And it’s kind of ridiculous to act like the local media is rooting for him to fail. It would be naive if they acted like everything is perfectly fine with the program.
Remember Cals best teams were mostly freshmen teams. The last couple of years we relied on transfers. I’m glad he stopped going after these 26 year old sixth year players who can’t make it to the league.

In terms of results/$$$, we're getting fleeced.
Some days, the fans are just peons who mean nothing. Other days, the fans are the only ones responsible for the program decline. It’s hard to keep up with how insignificant or significant us fans are to the program.
Lost a lot of respect for Vitale when he started on UK fans/Tubby....we'd set the program back 10 years.

As my grand father used to say opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one and most of them stink. Greenberg can say what ever he wants but Cal has not delivered for several years now. The man is if not the highest, one of the highest paid coaches in the country and that could include the NBA as well. So for that kind of money and prestige yes he deserves any criticism that comes with the job.
Monty Williams at the Pistons is the highest paid at 13.5 million.
Cal's official salary is 8.5 million. Tying him with the Heat's Erik Spoolestra. That ties him for FOURTH highest paid baskebal coach in the country.
And if anyone is curious, Bellichick is the highest paid coach in America at 20M.
And Diego Simeone is the highest paid sports coach at $40.59 MILLION to coach....futbol.

Still 8.5 plus the other money he brings in for endorsements etc, is a pretty penny and means the criticism is fair. Hell I will take the job for 2 million.

As usual, the louder someone is about something and how it offends them or it doesn't bother them (i.e. Cal) the more they are usually projecting.
The Athletic department and h iversity pays him very little in comparison to his full contract. Most of his pay is radio and tv contracts and all the other endorsements.

As part of Calipari’s contract, he signs over his endorsement rights to the University and agrees to participate in endorsements that are part of UK’s multi-media agreement with JMI. Calipari received $8.1M for these rights this year. The remaining $400K of his pay is his base salary.
It’s detailed in Section 6 of his contract.
