if you look at the entirety of Rick's record at UofL, you get a much different picture. Just looking at the last 5 years is doing him a big favor. ........

Coaches evolve with experience. The last five years is a good indication. If you prefer the last ten years, let's look at the numbers. But the last five years, Cal has four final fours, a title and an NIT. Pitino has three final fours and a title. He also has a poor record against Cal straight up and has lost to Cal in the NCAA tourney twice. Look, I think Pitino is a very good coach. But I think Cal is the better total package at this time. You obviously disagree.

I also don't think you are a UL fan unlike some here. Not with almost 9000 posts. But have gotten the feeling you aren't a big fan of Cal. I just leave it at that.

I did not say any UL recruits were 5 star. What I was trying to say was that Mitchell probably has 5 star talent. The fact that he was the MVP in 2 ALL Star games my suggest that he is going to be pretty good.

Just remember there is 4 star kids every year who turn out to be better than some 5 star kids. Not all 5 star kids are locks to be lottery picks.

Yes, we realize that, and also we realize you have a lot of experience with this as a UofL fan, seeing as how top rated talent generally flames out at UofL. For every "developed" 3 star you guys brag about, there are more that have not developed at UofL, and I'm not just referring to 5 star talent. It's all good though. When Pitino doesn't develop them or they aren't developing in a year or are too skinny like S. Aaron, he'll just kick them out and you can get quick replacements. All sorts of "one and dones" coming in AND on the way out.

While reading this thread I didn't look at the date and was wondering what was going on with UK fans talking ish about our recruiting. Dang, our fans sure can turn on a coach fast, even when our class was still rated pretty high. It just goes to show if you ever doubt Cal's recruiting, he will just make you look dumb in the end. And for the UL fans, you might as well stay used to Rick's latest recruiting woes. I don't think it will be changing for the better anytime soon. Whatever lil Rick had left to sell, its all gone now.

Vj King only player listed on "their" board at 6:45 pm Tue. Oct. 6th 2015. The guys that follow recruiting at work (the U of L guys) are scared sh!tless King will Decommit!!

Why in the world would this kid want to decommit? The way things are going, this kid could see himself as UL'S next most talented kid. A guy that will get as many shots a game as he wants. Why go somewhere else and have to actually work on getting laid? You're imsane! This kid ain't going anywhere. He's the king of the swing and believes in hosb4pros. If he left UL, they would have to start dipping in the 3 star pool. What a bad time to start to suck at recruiting.

the numbers don't really say "no debate," or "hands down."

And yes, picking a 5 year period out of any coaches 15-20 year career to base your argument is the definition of random.

Too funny. We dont have an NBA team coming in this year and we're acting like the run is over. Skal, Briscoe, Ulis, Poythress and Lee, all athletic stars.....10 years ago we'd already be hanging a banner.
