How much do they mean to you? I know Cal couldn't care less about them. Would it lessen the sting of early flame outs if we at least won the SEC or SEC tournament?

Teams that flame out aren't winning the sec or sec tourney. Coincidentally when UK was doing well they also won the sec and sec tourney a lot during the first 10 years of cals tenure.

A good season at UK is winning either the SEC tourney or the regular season, or both. A great season is doing one or both of those plus making at least regional final, or doing neither of those but making a final four.

Losing both the regular season and the tournament, then failing to get to the regional final is a disappointing season. It just is. And we’ve had far too many of those lately.

It would be nice, we used to do that all the time. I’d be happy. Still want tournament success as well.

The only reason SEC regular season titles are important for me is seeding. If you win the SEC chances are you have a high seed and a chance at a great run in the tourney.

Sec tourney I would like to see us boycott unless we need it to make the NCAA or they move the championship to Saturday . They have shown time and time again it makes no difference in seeding.

Just a Sunday money grab and I am sure the SEC gets enough from football to not need that one game that only we are being watched.

Kentucky hasn't gotten some real hardware since what? 2018?
We won the SEC by 3 games in ‘20 and that means nothing to the CHC

It’s only important to the CHC when we don’t win it.

It doesn’t matter in the real world but the CHC dominates this board.

Cal does want to win it. It’s just another CHC lie to say he doesn’t.

We haven't won the sec 5 of 6 seasons now though. Explain that genius. Defend that genius.

And about to be 6 out of last 7.

Seriously thought the thread title was “SEC Titties.” Imagine my disgust when I opened this one. My own fault.

But to answer your question, they mean a lot. Both of them, Titles and the other.
I had to double check my spelling. The double vision in my left eye sometimes messes up my words.

Personally winning the SEC tournament would show the team is ready for March Madness, and as you can see the lack of SEC success over the past 5 or 6 years equals our lack of success in the tournament.

SEC titles are a nice to have.
< Championship (obviously)
< Final 4
I would put them about = to an Elite 8

SEC-T championship, I would put that about = to a Sweet 16, or between a Sweet 16 and Elite 8

We need to start handing out participation trophies to the kids bless their hearts they try so hard

The SEC Tournament championship means more than that SEC regular season title for me.
Totally agree. I went to the 94 SEC tournament at the Pyramid in Memphis. We beat Arkansas, the eventually champs in the semifinals and Florida for the title.

But the 2010 Sec tournament in Nashville was incredible. Alabama played us close, we absolutely dog walked Tennessee and Pearl and then the Boogie last second putback against MSU. Just a different kind of fan and excitement in the crowd compared to Rupp.

Also nothing like having a game 3 days in a row, when we were actually good.

Years back, they didn't mean that much to me because we pretty much won a SEC title regular season and or SEC tournament championship just about every year. I was always more interested in what we did in the NCAA tournament. But now that we do nothing at NCAA tournament time, A SEC championship regular season or SEC tournament championship would be really nice.

Cal does not care about them because he is so terrible at winning them.

Do you get paid by Cal for every "CHC" you post?

They mean everything and before the current coach we never had a coach that it was the first priority and they were expected.

Both important at UK. To say otherwise is not realizing our SEC dominance throughout our history. We have more SECT titles than all other SEC teams combined. Of course, a NCAAT title is more important. That’s the main goal, at the end of the day. However, SECT and regular season titles would be the secondary goals for the program. Definitely not draft night.
